Can we do some sort of informal introduce-yourself-even-if-you've-been-here-forever thread today? I'm looking around lately and there's a bunch of sn's I don't recognize...
No set format or specific questions, just a standard intro - who are you, who's your SO, how long you've been together, how long you've been around TK, hobbies, interesting factoids about yourself, etc. Whatever you feel like sharing. Pics highly encouraged.

interesting factoids about yourself: I teach bio & chem at the community college level. My students are awesome, but typically have more life experience than me (they're mostly married with kids - I'm not even engaged yet, haha).
I'm addicted to cheese. Just ask BF. (Potatoes I could take or leave, Harry Potter is good but I'm not addicted, and Twilight is good but I'm not addicted - I actually like the Friday Night Knitting Club books better than either of them)

Married Bio
I've been hanging around TK for about three years now...I joined when my sister got engaged to find out how to do this bridesmaid thing, and I just kind of stuck around. I've been on NEY since about Day 1. If you hear the term "Old Guard" (or "Uppity B*tch") get tossed around here, I'd be one of them. I try to give the best meaningful advice I can give, but I'm snarky, and I'll call people out on crap when necessary. I wouldn't expect any less of anyone else here. I've made some amazing friends through this board (more friends than enemies, at least), friendships I wouldn't trade for the world.
I'm 27, a Ph.D. student in marine biology. In my spare time (what little I have that isn't filled with two full-time jobs, a lab schedule and coursework), I like scuba diving, photography, cooking/baking, yoga, hanging out with the SO/friends/fam/dog.
DH is 34, an IT tech, and a dive instructor. He's also working on his masters in marine biology. We got married last week after nearly three years together.
We've got one furbaby (thus far) - a Border Collie/Beagle/Pit Bull mut named Sandy. She sounds ferocious, but is scared of damn near everything, including thunderstorms, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, luggage, her own reflection, chihuahuas and cockroaches.
Other things you should know about me? I have a bit of an obsession with cheesy so-bad-they're-hilarious killer animal/disaster movies, cupcakes, mojitos, Alexander Skaarsgard, SoBe Lifewater, and chupacabras. I seriously LOVE CHEESE. I hate drama (yes, really!). I wrestle sharks for a living. I won't say anything to any of you here that I wouldn't be willing to say to your face. My theme song may or may not be "I'm On a Boat". Tomatoes turn me into Linda Blair from "The Exorcist". I'm a bit OCD - if you don't believe me, check out my planning profile.

I'm NikNIk. I am a mechanical engineer in a ballistics and explosives reasearch company and my FI is a flight instructor and a club soccer coach. We have been together for over three years. I've been on NEY for around 8 months.
Hobbies include anything artsy, drawing (pencil, pastel, oil), clay, jewelery making, etc. I love cheese, potatoes and ice cream. I'm not really into any tv, movie, or book stuff.

My name is Caitlin; I've been lurking for a few years and I just started posting a few months ago. I'm a sophomore in college (I'll be a junior in two weeks- eeep!) studying Psychology and Women's Studies. I'm working my way toward a PhD in Counseling (Clinical Psychology). I hope to eventually specialize in marriage counseling.
My SO's name is Angelo. We've been together for a little more than a year. He was there for me at a pretty rough time in my life as a friend, and it just sort of went from there.
I don't have time for hobbies because I'm a full time student and I have a job, but when I do have five seconds of peace at once, I like to crochet, sew, cook, and read.

I have worked with people from AMR which is a place doing some of the same stuff we are, in Maryland. If that helps any? I also worked for a nuclear weapons facility, but it was in Texas. I think they do have one somewhere up there close though.

I joined TK when I was MOH for a friend's wedding and needed to figure out what that all entailed. I started posting regularly about a year ago (i think)
My FI and I have been together just over 2 years and engaged for just over 2 months. We are in our 30s (well, I'll be joining FI shortly). I work in international trade and FI works in transportation.
We have a siberian husky named Molson. Intertesting tidbit, Molo is bi-eyed (one blue eye and one brown eye) which freaks people out to no end.
Stuff about me: I love cooking, baking, reading, travelling, crafting, doing renovations on our first home (atleast trying to) and trying to get into gardening (my tomato seedlings sprouted earlier this week), plus a bunch more.

I joined TK last year when a friend and my sister were nearing engagement and joined, and I only found this board a few months ago. I lurked for a while and started posting a month or two ago. I'm 26, SO is 27 in a couple weeks and we have been together for 2 years, been living together for a year and 4 months. We have an interesting story that is pretty long but here is the short(er) version. We met through our mutual best friend, and when BF broke up with his ex GF, he made a move on me. Mutual best friend did not like this (it sounds childish and bitchy of her, yes, but there were reasons) so we "couldn't be together". We talked all day every day and became very close and starting falling hard for each other. After about 3 1/2 months of this she let it go and gave us her blessing, and we started hanging out more immediately. We got in a car accident one night (his back right tire blew on his Eclipse spyder convertible) where the car smashed into a telephone pole and flipped and righted itself. We were both fine, and jumped out of the car, and he said, "Oh my God, are you ok? Are you ok? I love you!" At which point I no longer cared about the accident

I love cooking and reading, and we are currently living with my sister and FBIL while their new apt is renovated, so all 4 of us have a blasty blast together. We have a 70 lb VERY hyper chocolate lab named Kali who is beautiful, and our roomies have 2 kitties - Oreo, a very fiesty 6 lb kitty who can chirp at birds, and Smokey, a 17 lb snuggly kitty who is addicted to licking and rolling around in plastic grocery bags.

I'm a 25 year old grad student in engineering...3 years down, 2 left to go! (Fingers crossed) FI is also 25 and is in the same field as me, but he has a real person job and actually makes money (so jealous). We've been together for about 2 1/2 years and have been engaged for about 4 months.
My hobbies include playing lots of instruments and baking up a storm.

*Trying* not to preplan now, but it's getting close enough (we've decided on next summer sometime), that I have a hard time holding it in.
Anyway, I'm 27, a single mom of a 5 yr old, degree in psych, but working in sales and writing for an educational program.. sort of related? I'm probably going to eventually go back to get my MA in English to pursue my writing more heavily. I'm lucky because I get to work from home with my current job.
BF is 35, VP of a consulting firm, and travels a lot. The nice thing is that he works from home when he's not traveling, so he and I get a LOT of time together. It's heaven.
We started dating in October 2009, and have spoken every single day since the first day we started talking on the phone. We became "official" as in public-facebook-status in Sept 2010 (Which was a big deal for me b/c I don't make things public lightly.)
Hobbies. I write, I play computer games and Wii with my son, and BF's daughter. I run (doing a Marathon in OCtober. Eek), I play tennis, I ski, though the season just ended for the year, so it's time to begin the spring/summer hiking. I sew and design some of my own clothes, though I'm very amateur at it. I have dabbled in modeling, just for fun.. mostly just for hair/makeup practice shoots, but it's been a blast. I love reading fanatsy/sci-fi novels. Ender's Game is probably my favorite series ever.
My son is awesome. He just lost his first tooth, which is insane since I still remember his first tooth growing in. I can't believe how quickly he's growing up. It's kind of scary. :P

I'm Leia. I joined TK in 2009 when I was a BM. I started hanging around NEY about a year ago. I'm 31 and work in consumer electronics.
FI is also 31 and also works in consumer electronics (different company, though). We've been together for almost three years, and we got engaged last September. We're getting married this September (see ticker).
My hobbies are karaoke, bowling, RockBand (the video game), and dance. I take tap and I took ballet last night for the first time in 25+ years.
Interesting fact...hmm. Well, I tried doing gymnastics again at the age of 29. Let's just say that was a much better idea in my mind than in reality. I was also second runner-up in a pageant back in college. I was only in it for the money and got $2,000 for it.

FI and I have been together since Fall '06 and been engaged since January. We're theoretically getting hitched next June, but until we book a venue, that's all just conjecture. We're both 25, but I'll turn 26 a good 5 months before he does and he never lets me live that down. He's a (medical) student, and I work in education.
