Pregnant Woman Tasered After Resisting Arrest

CN: A pregnant woman had parked in a handicapped spot at Walgreens. An officer had come to give her a ticket. She ripped it up, threw it on the ground and started swearing at him. He then tried to give her a ticket for littering. She got beligerent and he said she was under arrest. She says "You aint arresting shiiit". She then got in her car to drive off with her fiance and two young children. The cop warned her that if she put the car in drive, he'd have to taser her. She put it in drive anyway, so he tasered her. He claims he couldn't tell that she was pregnant.

Some say there is zero excuse for tasing a pregnant woman. Others say she was clearly warned what would happen, so the responsibility falls on her because she chose to disobey him.

I agree. She doesn't get to completely disregard all laws because she's pregnant. That's crazy. He did his due diligence - warned her and followed through. She's at fault.
The cop gave her every chance to change her tune and start behaving civilly. She proceeded to give every one of those chance the finger. She deserved what she got.

Hahaha, I wish I could, but they're kind of commanding me to not do anything that bars their cuteness from being shared with the world.
personally- if something is wrong with her kid I think SHe should be charged with child endangerment. She put her kids and baby in harms way when she acted like that. I feel ZERO sympathy.

Good point. Did she really think she could act like that with no consequences? It's her own fault for putting her baby in jeopardy; the cop told her what would happen if she put her car in gear and she did it anyway. What an idiot.

No one is saying that it's nice that this happened. We're just saying that the police officer didn't do anything wrong. Of course it's a sucky situation - it's sucky that people like her are raising children.

Yup. If this did damage to the baby, that's horrible ... but it's not the police officer's fault. He gave her several chances to behave civilly, and she made the choice not to. He warned her that if she put the car into drive he'd taser her. He didn't know she was pregnant, she did. She made the choice to put the car into drive anyway. 100% her fault. While the baby (And her other children that had to be witness to their mom being such a jackass) get my sympathy, the woman herself does not.

Idk if it was in this article or another one I read about it, but she was also arguing the officer was in the wrong b/c he tased her in front of her kids....That's a really crappy attitude to have. Being in front of kids doesn't give you the right to break the law. In fact, it should be more reason to behave like a civilized human being.

Yeah pretty sure if you are causing enough of a ruckus that a police officer makes the decision to taze you in front of your children - then that is YOUR fault. I mean, barring any ridiculous scenario in which a cop tazes you for no reason? You're being a diiick, you're resisting everything and you're making a huge scene. FFS. You can't be surprised when they use force to apprehend your ass!

The fact that she put the car into drive knowing that she would be tasered, with her car in gear, with the children in the car, is even more of a reason she should be charged with child endangerment. She's an idiot, and I hope like hell that her children learn that it's not ok to disrespect law enforcement, because they sure as hell aren't going to learn that from their mother.

Aren't people protected in cases like this under the Good Samaritan law? Like if you were performing CPR and broke someone's sternum, they couldn't sue you.
