Re: Morning!

• I haven't gotten past the first page. Mad Men was awesome. Pete is more creepy than ever, but I'm glad he's getting a taste of his own medicine. Yes, Pete, WE get to decide what happens. Ha! Suck on that, creepazoid!

Good morning, ladies.

Congrats, raynes. Owen is a cutie.

Happy Anniversary, J!

Good news on your betas, Blue. FX for continued doubling.

We had a good weekend, and now it's lightly raining. Perfect.

CN: a 6 year old was SUSPENDED for three days after reciting a line from a radio song. "I'm sexy and I know it" got him suspended because it was 'sexual harassment.'

Blue- I'm so glad to hear your numbers are getting to the levels they should be at!
Raynes- Good job with the "mini me". He sounds adorable!
DJ- Go to the doctor and get well. You have to be able to get out to Denver next week.

H is sick, and getting sicker. I finally got him to take a bunch of medicine, so that's helping. It a good ole garden variety cold coupled with allergies. Came home from a baseball game on Saturday night to find BIL passed out face first on the floor. We decided that we're going to have to talk to him about his drinking and "smoking". He is almost constantly baked or drunk. Of course, yesterday, he was sober. He mowed the lawn, did some grocery shopping and cooked dinner. And, so far as I know, he didn't drink (maybe during the time he was gone after mowing the lawn). This whole thing is working towards a confrontation of some sort.
And the muggy, wet, rainy weather is not helping me wake up this morning.

Oh good LORD he's SIX.
I like the quote : "Sometimes when you go to a zero-tolerance policy, you end up with a zero-sense policy,"

Did they even tell him to stop saying it first? The story doesn't say but wtf. I think it's dumb when sexual harassment is pinned on a kid who most likely doesn't even know what sex is. When my little brother was in kindergarten, he went up to a little girl, put his hands on her chest and said "nice jugs". He was suspended the rest of the day. That warrants it, even if it just means he understands that what he did was very inappropriate and the day is spent talking/thinking about it with mom and dad. Singing a song does not. If this kid had KEPT singing it after being asked to stop, that's the point where maybe a call home or trip to the office would be warranted.

Yeesh. It's a gosh darn song for crying out loud. It's in commercials, it's friggin everywhere. People need to relax. If he sang it with some suggestive movements then yes, maybe and that's stretching it. He's six. Lord, I've heard WAY worse out of 2-3 year old mouths than that.

• good morning.

Congrats, Raynes! You guys did a great job, he's precious!
Blue, Woot Woot, T&P's for more doubling of numbers.
J, Happy Anniversary!

I had a pretty good weekend. I felt good for most of it, and I went to Columbus to see my little nephew yesterday. I just love that little guy so much. When I was getting ready to leave, he came over and kissed my belly and said "bye cousin, I can't wait to meet you in the fall. I love you already." freaking seriously, he's the sweetest kid ever.

• WTF. The coordinator for the school I was supposed to speak at Wednesday just sent me a snarky email about how they had the event today and I wasn't there. I just checked her original email and it says the 9th, this WEDNESDAY.

So I guess now I don't get to do the event and all those people probably think I just didn't show up. Fvck. Now I feel bad.
• Sesh- that sucks. It aggravates me when communication on things like that gets messed up.

• Congratulations Raynes!

I was hoping to read some good news from you this morning Blue.

Dmill, that is so sweet about your nephew! How old is he?

We had a good weekend - getting the house ready for a Knottie friend coming in from Boston tomorrow night (yay!) and spending some time with the BF and her family. Her little girl has a huge crush on H and is at that age where she shows it by hitting and pinching him all the time. She did give him a big giant hug before she went to bed though so that was sweet.

Forward the original email to her, with the message, "According to this email, I was under the impression that the event wasn't to be held until this Wednesday. If there was other communication regarding a date change, I did not receive it."

If you're feeling extra bitchy, you could include "I'm sorry to have missed the opportunity to speak, but the oversight was not a lack of planning on my part. It was due to a miscommunication from your office."

The wrong date was on the email chain that she responded to me on. I mean, it was just a talk so it's not like I missed out on sales, but still. All those kids and their parents now likely think I'm a flake and it looks bad on me - because you know the coordinator won't go back and say it was her fault. I feel liek I should post something on my FB site about the date mixup.

Good morning ladies! I had an excellent weekend, the Star Wars party was so much fun! Totally worth the gnarly hangover on Saturday.

I just got out of the longest, dumbest meeting with my office. Our supervisor used all these played-out metaphors (think outside the box, etc) and he actually used the terms "social butterfly" and "horse whisperer" in the same sentence when he was describing himself to us. He got the biggest WTF looks from all of us. It was pretty much a waste of time, because the higher-ups didn't listen to any of our complaints/suggestions, and we basically felt attacked. I have 39 days left until I'm done with this place.

Congrats on baby Owen, Raynes! I'm so happy for you guys. I've been meaning to ask: did you ever get him any Wookiee the Chew stuff? So cute, I love it.

[QUOTE]Congrats, Raynes! I love the name. Yay, Blue! Keeping you in my T&P's. Good morning! I learned to drive a stick shift this weekend. H and I are hoping that our rental car in Europe is an automatic, like we reserved, but who knows what could happen. I was pretty proud of myself since I only stalled out one time. H stalled about 15 times. Even though it wasn't a competition, I totally kicked his ass.

Fvck yeah I'm taking it off. If I can't go in on Wednesday (I asked if she'd still like me to come, but I doubt it), then I'm going to see The Avengers with the gas money I would have spent on the trip. With or without H. Or to buy a new book.
• Have a great trip Koda. I loved Venice so much. It's probably my favorite city. Rome would probably have been more enjoyable if it wasn't so ridiculously hot.
