• Nebb- Ditto about Dumbledore. I finished that book at like 4 in the morning, I was bawling my eyes out and all stoppy and stuffy and had no one to talk to. I was SAD.

[QUOTE]Oh AND every Harry Potter book or movie where someone dies. I cried progressively more and more as the books went on.

Oh man, me too. I shouldn't have bothered wearing makeup to the last movie.
• Oh my gosh, What Dreams May Come. That was awful. Bad timing, due to my friend's death. That movie traumatized me all over again.

• The Lovely Bones movie made me a cry a little bit but not like I did with the book. The book was so much better.

I really want to READ the lovely bones now, I think i might buy that next. I liked the movie but all the psychedeleic stuff was a bit much.
• Nebb- I'll mail it to ya

haha its ok, im due for a book buying trip. I have some more holes in my collection to fill.
• Ditto Nebb again about Lovely Bones. I liked the book, but the whole sex part was just 100% unnecessary and ruined most of the rest of the book for me.

• Most I ever cried was Dancer in the Dark. I bawled straight through the entire second half of that movie.

Do you guys mind when movies make you cry? I actually like to sit down and have a good cry while watching a movie now and then. There's something cathartic about it.

[QUOTE]I'm also with kate; I cry at like every movie ever. Marley and Me, Lion King, Fried Green Tomatoes, Simon Birch, Love Actually, Schindler's List, all versions of Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Armageddon, My Girl, Titanic (still), Secondhand Lions, I could go on forever...

This movie is based on "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving and if you think the movie is sad, read the book. It radically affected my life. Seriously. It's the best book I've ever read and I cried and cried and cried at the end of it.

Yes! I was kind of mad at the movie because I wanted everything from the book to be included. But when it's like 700 pages, I guess that would be a long movie...

Yeah the book is long, and it'd be hard to adapt the whole story to a movie. My mom read it first and made me read it and she said, "You HAVE to finish it. It's kind of slow reading and it won't make any sense until the very last page, but you absolutely must finish it." It took me the summer between 10th and 11th grade to read it, but man, was it worth it.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Movies that make you cry? : I was SO scared when we went to see the half blood prince that when dumbledore died I would bawl. When I read the book I held it together and once I finished I called my mom to tell her I finished and just started crying, I cried as hard as if a real person died.

Um. Dobby. I'm still crying. That's all I can say.

Homeward Bound .... yep, I said it. I ALWAYS ball when Shadow sees Peter at the end

Father of the Bride. .. when George says, "it was at that moment I realized what was happening.. Annie was all grown up and leaving us. And something inside me began to hurt"

Step mom.. .when Julia Roberts says, "Look down the road to her wedding...I'm standing in a room alone with her, fitting her veil and telling her no woman has ever looked more beautiful, and my fear is all she'll be thinking is 'I wish my mom was here."

Up... when the old man's wife died, and when Kevin was captured

My Sister's Keepers... cried from beginning to end

• LC- I have read the book! I love love loved it, but haven't read it in several years, so I need to read it again.

Sarah- I like crying during movies if I'm alone, but in public not so much. We're actually watching Simon Birch in school right now (as an example of how a personal essay is set up), so I've been trying not to cry in front of my students every day. I think that would make me a little less intimidating :)

[QUOTE]Oh and if a man cries in a movie...I'm bawling. Theres just something about a man crying...

you would lose your shiit around Scott, he cries ALL. THE. TIME. Never at movies though.

I don't really cry at movies, but I almost cried during Marley and Me, and cried the second time I saw the Notebook.
• Life is Beautiful, Apollo 13, Marley and Me
• I cried during Marley and Me. On an airplane no less.
I always cry during My gIrl, After those damn glasses hit the ground I'm crying till the end of the movie.
Iron Giant, Up (In the beginning and when he looks through her adventure book... I can cry just thinking about it), A league of their own... There are some that just make me cry every time, I usually end up watching those alone. Especially if I get made fun of for it. There's a lot, stupid being older... I used to not cry during movies. I felt lame when I cried during Toy Story 2 when it has the montage of the girl forgetting about Jesse. It made me all sad for my old toys.
I'm glad someone mentioned cryingwife.com. Now THAT is funny.
Night swimming in the ocean= pretty sweet reception!
• The one movie that made me cry the most was Bridge to Terebithia. I think it was around when FI and I were first dating, so I felt really dumb because I seriously COULD NOT stop crying. He still makes fun of me for it hehe.

I'll cry at anything. I've cried watching 24 haha. I once cried while watching a Nike commercial.
