So BF asked me to try on a couple rings the other day. I thought I knew what I liked...but after trying a few on, I realized I have NO IDEA what I like! I'm so indecisive and I have no idea what to tell him now that he's trying to get a feel for what I might like.
SO...I thought it would be fun if you ladies helped me out! Post a pic of your gorgeous ring if you've got one - OR - a ring you'd absolutely love to have!!

Lyn, I had completely forgotten just how much I adore your ring.
Ewww... It looks like I don't have full fingers in this picture. LOL
This is what I am in love with at the moment. I would just like to wear the e-ring and say forget getting an actual band. But I doubt if that will work out.
[QUOTE]Does everyone plan to wear a wedding band along with their e-ring after the big day? I know that the band holds a lot of meaning to some people, but I've never thought i'd want one. My grandma has always just worn her round solitaire e-ring...and it looks beautiful.

<div>I'm getting a band to match. I also might get a band for our 1 year anniversary (FBD has hinted b/c he knows I really love the idea of 2 bands). This is the one I'm looking at:</div><div><a href="http://www.benmoss.com/home/product/tabid/64/language/en-us/p-23659-025-carat-tw-10k-white-gold.aspx?catid=1473">http://www.benmoss.com/home/product/tabid/64/language/en-us/p-23659-025-carat-tw-10k-white-gold.aspx?catid=1473</a></div>

I plan on wearing a wedding band with my engagement ring. I feel like the wedding band has more meaning compared to the engagement ring (IMHO).

Here's mine. Old European Cut Asha diamond sim, with a remake of my mom's wedding band.
And a hidden Mickey
I've had it for about a week and a half. I love it, but I am terrified of wearing it! I don't want to mess it up, lose it or have it stolen. I noticed some small scratches on the underside of the band a few days ago, and since then it has been sitting in it's box. FI is of the belief that it should only be worn on special occasions as well, so he's not really complaining.
We plan to get very simple matching bands to wear full time after the ceremony. It doesn't need to go with my E-ring, because we want to wear them on our right hands. Though I must admit, there are some really gorgeous bands that match my E-ring that I've been drooling over.

Aww, thanks Panda! I love it too :) <div>

I can definitely see in the future times where I would wear the band only without the engagement ring.

cschiano- Thanks! Yep, they're petals. I like that it looks like a pretty normal e-ring from the top, but from the side it's got the cool flower petals
[QUOTE]Panda: what are you doing with your first ring?

I got Joe to attach a bail/bale (I've seen it spelled both ways..) to it, and put it on a chain so now it's a purdy necklace, hehe.
Allusive - BF and I had a hard time deciding on something we BOTH liked. I literally looked at hundreds of rings online and tried on at least 20 before I found "the one."
Here it is. I don't have it yet.
Just keep looking. You will find exactly what you are looking for eventually.
I plan to wear a band with my ering after we get married. I'm thinking something a little more blingy with the solitaire.

You know, the best advice I was given when we were looking at rings was to find someplace that would let you play. It seems like the big chain stores were all about TODAY'S sale and not worried about if we might come back later and buy. We finally found a small, family owned place, that when we said we wanted to look at engagement rings, the woman's eyes lit up and she said "Let's Play!" She let me try on everything I wanted and never pushed us to buy a thing. They gave us warm cookies and a drink and we spent the afternoon trying on rings. That was the place FI went back to buy. So, if you feel pressured, just walk out. We did that at plenty of places.
I had also told FI that I didn't need a band, since money is so tight, but he was insistent that we would make it work since he wanted me to have a band (and we were very pleased when he got a holiday bonus at work)- I have metal allergies, so we went with sterling silver. My e-ring didn't have a matching band, but we found something that would work (doesn't match FI's band, but that didn't matter to us). I don't have a picture of me wearing it, but click here and you can see the store's image of it.
[QUOTE]My dream ring is boring, just a round solitaire with a plain platinum band. But it's what I love most. Lyn, I had completely forgotten just how much I adore your ring.

Thanks Bren!
Sapphirebaby your ring is gorgeous! As for the wedding band question, I have a matching band as you can see in the picture, so the band looks weird without the e-ring. If I ever just want to wear a wedding band I'll have to get another wedding band.
