No offense but ZOMG, artichokes make me want to vomit. I used to work in a restaurant that made everything (down to the salad dressings) from scratch, and I had to prep the spinach artichoke dip all the time...the artichokes in the can are nasty and made me smell like nasty artichokes for entire evenings at a time.
My two favorite dips -
Jarlsberg Cheese Dip
2 cups shredded Jarlsberg cheese 2 cups diced yellow onion 1 cup mayo
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 - surface should be browning and bubbly when finished. Serve with slices of baguette.
Smoked Cheddar Ale Dip
8oz light cream cheese 1 cup light mayo 2 cups diced yellow onion 3 cloved garlic, minced 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1/2 cup shredded smoked cheddar cheese 1 tbsp Worchestershire sauce 2 dashes Tobasco sauce 1 bottle beer (I usually use a dark ale, like Yeungling) Fresh ground sea salt and black pepper
Mix together all the ingredients, adding beer last. Allow to sit refrigerated overnight. Bake for 45 minutes at 350. Serve with tortilla chips or baguette slices. Is AWESOME with Cape Cod Kettle Chips.

I was about to post this same message when I read yours and noticed for the first time (stupid ADD) that you're in MD too.
Oceana, I'm totally stealing the Smoked Cheddar Ale Dip... it sounds wonderful! I'm a huge fan of spinach artichoke dip... love me some artichokes! I also love guacamole... yum! I always get requests for my guacamole and spinach artichoke dip when it comes to parties and potlucks.
Yum! This just reminded me that i need to make some type of dip for the super bowl party I'm going too. Oops. Forgot about that until just now. I be thinking of you all while I make it. haha
When you love someone, you can tell. When you're in love with someone, everyone else can tell.
Me: 1 block softened cream cheese 1 cup shredded jack/colby mix 1 tbsp butter 1/2 to 3/4 bottle of Kroger brand Medium Buffalo wing sauce 1/2 container of blue cheese crumbles 3-4 boiled chicken breasts, cut into small pieces
MIx, pour in pyrex dish, spread remaining blue cheese on top, bake at 350ish for 20ish minutes, or until corners start turning brown and crispy.

A MD style crabcake is mostly crab and generally has old bay. I think it looks a little like they take an ice cream scoop and plop crab onto a baking sheet. NOLA style are more breaded and are normally served with a roumalade. It's so good.

Hi Whereya! Sorry about that.
That's the problem with living in MD, I can't get away from crab. I don't really like MD style crabcakes, but I like NOLA style crabcakes.
And I'm going to make meatballs! Literally make, as I can't buy any plastic.

But I'm supposed to be on a diet right now, so this thread is like porn. I feel dirty.
