I'm torn between 2 wedding dresses - help!

both are very different and I love them for different reasons. The first is more my style and better suits my wedding theme (more rustic), but the second makes me feel like I'm on top of the world when I wear it

Re: I'm torn between 2 wedding dresses - help!

  • I think both dresses are beautiful!!

My vote went for #2 because YOU seem more excited about it! Don't change your wedding dress to "fit" your theme... I don't think this dress would be so out of place at a more rustic wedding.

In fact, I could totally see it being adorable in a couple of "cowboy boot under the dress" shots ;)
  • They're both beautiful dresses, but you should get the dress that you really love - which to me sounds like the second one.

I agree, both are beautiful, but it sounds to me like you really love #2.  So that is the one I would go with!  If you've found a dress that makes you feel that way, I say go for it.

I highly doubt any guests are going to think "well, that dress just isn't rustic enough."

  • Get the one you love, and to hell with trying to match your dress to your theme. No one will judge, and you'll feel beautiful.

(I chose a rediculous, formal dress for my casual outdoor wedding becuase it makes me feel beautiful.)
  • I think you look a million times better in dress 1, but if you love dress 2 - get it!
  • I'm torn as well. You definitely have the body for the first dress, but I really like you in the second one.
  • The 2nd one seems to fit you better.

I didn't vote because... You look amazing in #1 and it seems to fit your theme. However, if you feel "on top of the world" in #2 that means it is probably "your dress". And you look great in #2. If I had gone with a dress that fit my garden wedding, I probably would have gone with something very flowy, ethereal, and chiffon. Instead I have a big royal duchess satin ballgown. It's how you feel when you are in your dress that matters.

  • I like the second one better!

  • The first is more form fitting, and with your body you can pull that off easily.  The second is more of a "princess" feeling gown.
I love both.  Keep in mind that you don't have to buy a dress that "fits" your wedding theme. Buy the one that makes you feel great!
  • I went for #2.  It made you feel the best as you stated and when it is sized to fit you I think it will be fabulous!

    Love is the ultimate superpower.
It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

  • Personally, I think the first one is better, but if the second one makes you feel better, then go for that one! Who cares if it doesn't fit your theme as well?

  • #1 - they both look good, but go with your favorite :)
  • I'm not one for poofy dresses and on these polls, I rarely vote for them. Before even reading that you liked the second one more, I LIKED the poofy one more too! I think you look better in it and you look like a "poofy dress girl!" Thats a good thing. Go for it!

  • I think the first is more flattering BUT the way you talked about the second is what made me vote for #2

  • They are both beautiful!! but I vote#2. U look great in it!!!
  • The second one is more lovely. I personally love the tulle mermaid wedding dress
  • The first dress I bought I settled for even though it's very pretty.  I passed on the one that made me feel amazing.  DO NOT DO THAT!  I am going back today to get a different dress because as my wedding day gets closer I regret it more and more.

  • I feel like I couldn't vote because the vote would reflect my style, not yours.  Get the dress you love, not necessarily the dress you feel fits your theme the best.

  • Thank you for all of your feedback and advice! I'm still torn and am planning on going back to try them both on one more time.  Fortunately, they're both from the same store so I won't have to drive all over town.  When I first tried them on, I was only paying attention to how much I loved the dress or how I felt wearing the dress, so I'm going to try to think about how comfortable they are this time.  I probably will only wear one dress the whole day, so it has to be something that I can realistically wear all day and wouldn't need help all day just to move around! Thanks again!
  • I voted for the second one! I think it is gorgeous and looks great on you! And I love it that you said you feel on top of the world in it! You should feel that way on your wedding day and in your wedding dress!
  • If you are still unsure, go back to that same salon and try on a few different styles. You will start to compare the dress you have on to one of the other two dresses. This will help you narrow down your choice.
