I never post in these things, but i actually had one this week. Of course it has already been taken! I was going to say that it REALLY bothers me people think it's ok to read their FI/H's email without him knowing. That goes beyond being curious about presents and crosses a serious line.

Ha! Well when you put it like that....hmm, okay I get it. FWIW, I post a lot of questions that I can't ask people in the real world. I would never call up a friend and say "Hey, my H doesn't seem too excited about me throwing on some lingerie. What do you think?" but I don't have any hestitation when it comes to posting those sort of things on an internet forum where nobody knows who I am. And...I have always gotten really good feedback to my questions

Right before I signed up on the knot I was in a very serious car accident - 4 days before my bridal shower. So ya, I posted about it. If anyone knows how stressful it would be to have injuries right before a shower/wedding, it would be on a wedding forum.

Yeah, this comes from years of dating and always fearing if the guy was dating me for me or if he might be interested because I have a little girl, so I started referring to her as kid and wouldn't reveal whether I had a boy or girl or her age until I was serious with someone. I was afraid I would meet that one pedophile that would date me to get to her. I guess I saw the movie "Where the Heart is" and it scared me. I guess at this point it is just habit.
