H and I both had off work today, so we took Delta to the village to try to socialize her a bit more. Right now we're just kind of hanging out, waiting for H to finish building the new gate.

I just got home from graduation shopping for my little brother and buying a dress for the graduation on Saturday.

Today they drained an abscess full of pus on his head and diagnosed him with a staph infection in addition to all his other problems.

No one really knows what the deal is. First it's meningitis, then it's not, then it is again...

He's had a heart ultrasound, a CT scan, two spinal taps, multiple blood tests, scalp and hand IVs, a picc line, and who knows what else, and they can't decide what the hell is making him so sick.

Oh, some really good news... the hospital hired an Arabic translator who is now on the phone every time SIL talks with Adam's doctor.

Oh, Kate. I'm glad that they found a translator for your SIL. I can't imagine what it's like to have a sick child when you don't speak the language of the doctors.

I apologize. I just took my typhoid vaccine, and I think it's amplifying the glass of wine I drank. Oh well.

Did the bacterial culture on the LP come back? Where was the abscess on his head?

The abscess was NOT a protruding fontanel, which Dr. Google tells me is good. It was kind of anterior left temple. He also had two abscesses on his back and one on his left arm, which they attributed to staph.
