Bought a new one almost a month ago but I haven't used it yet because I'm too tech tarded

  • I'm here. Just finished changing Edmund and now he's relaxing on my chest.

I'm working on getting moving estimates all converted to pdf form so we can send them to the university and get them to pick a company.  I hate stupid bureaucracy.

I'm sort of waiting for the troll to f up so I can ban her and move on with my life.
  • That's a headache by itself, mica

The management company here had to move me to a higher floor about 5 years ago becaue of a chemical spill while they were constructing the gym on the first floor.

I didn't have to deal with anything other than just coming home to a different apartment that night.
  • I'm kinda back.  H is playing Angry Bords and we're watching Deadliest Catch on DVR.  Tonight has been pretty boring though, and the troll thing has just been annoying, so I'm not sure how long I'll stick around.

  • I just got home from my parents house. Got my "release of lease" finally from my leasing office today. I hate reading all the potential fees we can rack up from "damage" to the apartment.

  • Ugh there's a lame chick on my month board. I told her she was being a Bridezilla (she asked!) and I'm probably going to get flamed for it...

I just turned in my notice to our place.  I can't believe we're moving again.  I moved into this place less than a year ago.
  • I showed my mom the fertility friend websites that everyone here uses for TTC charting and she was like, "All I had was a little notebook that I had to make my own little dots!" haha. It was cute that she was jealous of today's future moms and the technology.

Are you moving local Mica? We've moved something like 6 times in the last 3 years :/

Take pictures anyhow.  You never know when a landlord will drum up some damage

Good idea, OOT. I've moved a couple times from different apartments, and so far haven't really had any fee issues. However, I'm more nervous about this place because we are breaking our lease early and J got into a shouting match with the manager, soooo I'm scared of possible "payback" from her.

Nope, we're moving out of state.  But last year, we both moved locally (from our separate apartments to one bigger apartment).  And the year before that, I moved from LA to SF, then flew to Gainesville FL to help H move to SF.  And I moved locally almost yearly when I was in LA.  H moved almost yearly for the last 5 years (and most moves from from one coast to the other).  I'm just tired of moving.

I hear ya! Since I left home for my undergrad, I have moved every single August. We are breaking our lease early, so this year it will be June, but still a yearly (this year more like a 9 monthly) move. I cannot wait until I finally get to settle in somewhere. We hope our townhouse will be a 2 year spot. After that, we will both be done with our graduate degrees, and hopefully be able to look for a long term home. Thankfully, J has lots of family with big trucks and I have two brothers with strong arms that help us. :)

  • Sounds like me Mica! I moved from VA to CA to my parents house, then to an apt, then to another apt that was on 1 level instead of 2, then to NJ to Fi's parents house, to an apt, and then to another apt that we're in now. I really like this apt too so it'll be hard to beat when we move the end of the year :/

Why do you have to move, Ghoti?

I just put on my scary sig pic.  I'm waiting to go to town on the troll, if the opportunity presents.
  • Tory is going BSC right now. I don't like when she does this past 6pm. NO energy to entertain her.

    I'm sure it's awesome, MS.

My dog has been sleeping non-stop since she came back from the dogsitter yesterday.  Whenever she's away from me, she just stays up and plays (every dog sitter has said that she just wants to play with the other dogs 24/7), then when she comes home, she crashes.  She's such a kid.

Well I did really love the revolver I was shooting. I want one of my own!

I think because she was just cooped up from 5-10pm while I was gone, she is just going crazy now. She just got really aggressive with her playing so I put her out on the porch for awhile. She loves to stare out at cars and people, so it will calm her down.

    Love the siggy Mica!!
Well, we moved from VA when I got out of the Navy, and moved to my hometown so I could be close to my parents, but the economy was tanked and it was nearly 8 months before Fi could find a job, and then it was a crappy job. So we agreed that he'd keep looking, but then we'd give it 2 years in NJ with his family for him to find something, and 1 year later he finally did, but I wont stay here another winter so we're looking to move to NC sometime this year.
ETA, we moved out of the first apartment because I fell down the stairs holding a baby Z and it slightly spiral fractured her leg Cry, I was pregnant with baby A too so it was really freaky, and I pretty much slept on the couch downstairs after that. When our 6 month lease was up, we moved to a different complex that was one level. And then our first apartment here, I was harassed by the landlord, to the point where they let us out of our lease early.

I have a friend with a bunch of antique/historical pieces.  I think that was a real WW2 Colt 45.  It was pretty sweet.
  • That would be really scary, Ghoti! Glad nothing bad happened to baby A when you fell.

Mica--That is pretty sweet! I can't wait to have my own revolver one day, once I get enough disposable income to buy one.

Me too, it was so sad. Ms Z was a 13 months old with a hot pink, full leg cast. She did really well with it, it was still really hard though. I was wearing those really fuzzy socks from Brookestone, and the stairs were carpeted. Ugh it sucked. Baby A was fine, I pretty much flew up and landed on my back, but Z's leg got caught under me since she was on my hip and it twisted the bone. Overshare probably, lol, but I always feel like the worst parent ever when I think about it :(
  • Right before the dropside recall my friend had her 10 month old daughter fall out of her crib and break her leg. She had a lime green full leg cast.

Ouch.  I got a sympathy pain for both you and Z.  I've been thinking about flooring and stairs while we look for places.  If we end up reproducing any time soon, it might be a good thing to be on one level.  Hm.
