[QUOTE]In Response to Re: SA Wednesday : I've had my programs for about 2 weeks now! I just didn't want to get behind so I worked ahead.  I'm picking up black to-go boxes from Uline.  I already have the apothecary jars for the actual candy. We have family showing up a week before the wedding (<strong>yes, a week</strong>).  So I wanted to get a lot of it done so I didn't have to stress too much the week of.

Ugh.  We did, too.  Luckily, our venue and hotel was a 30 minute drive from our apartment.  So, we were able to have a little "space".

We refused to pay that much for dance lessons so my step mom told us about one of her clients that teaches dance lessons and we got 3 lessons for $115.  We were happy with that.  Some of the other places we called were $250+ for 3 lessons.

My skin is so freaking dry right now. I have been running outside a lot and I think that may be what is causing it. I am drinking a fluid ton of water everyday, so I think I am fine there but maybe I need a better moisturizer? Any thoughts? I use Olay Anti-Aging something right now.

Brianna- Just a suggestion but have you looked at just a plain car rental company? You could rent a nice car (bentley, mercedes, etc) as a getaway car.

Don't really have anything to add except:
high pollen count + lubbock wind = kleenex sold out across the city.

That was my suggestion - and we have TONS of free rental days from my company (we're using them on our HM).  But FI pointed out that we will both be drinking at the reception, so he'd rather take a getaway car.  It was one thing that piped up on, so I let him have it.

This.  Times 10.  I was dead-set on waiting until after I was married before having kids (not being judgy, just a personal thing, honest!)... and now I'm married.  It's like a lightswitch went off, and I see babies everywhere and desperately want one!  I'd been telling myself I needed to wait until I got a new job with better hours... and I start that job on the 14th.  So now I'm running out of reasons to talk myself out of it with!

I'm late to the party but...

Yay @ seeing Giselle posting :) (and I was also wondering about Stephie.)

re: Getaway Car - so glad we are staying downtown at our venue, one less thing to worry about.

I think after our rehearsal dinner we are going to venture out with our friends and family to do karaoke in the Oak Lawn/Cedar Springs area. FI agreed to it and even said the more old fashioned folks in his family would love that.

I hate springtime at work. No one wants indoor activities as much so things slow down for us. I'm hoping for a rainy season so I can get last minute bookings.

I hate the idea that men aren't supposed to care about planning most of the wedding. I don't even get where this idea comes from. I'll be honest if FI wasn't equally involved in the whole process I'd be irritated as crap.

I just think it's all about knowing your FI/H.  For me, I know that most of the wedding, he didn't really care about, and the parts of it that he does care about, he had his say in them.  If your FI wants to be included, then that's great, but not all (most) guys are the same way about it.

[QUOTE]Your wedding day is about you, that's true.  However, no one else is ever going to be as excited about your wedding as you are.  Also, the only thing they are required to do is show up at your wedding just like the only thing you need to get married are the two of you.

    Amen to this!!

    Sorry I'm late... crazy day.

Brianna - Congrats  & High Five!!  I had pretty much everything done early as well and it is SOO nice to be able to sit back and kind of enjoy all of the events without 1000 thing son your mind.

Re: Men's interest - I think it depends on the man.   Mine didn't care about what colors we used or what the cake looked like... he cared what the food tasted like, what the cake tasted like, and how we were doing on budget.   Those are his interests... investments and food.  Haha.

That being said, I think a man who is not involved at all.... like literally has no interest in even setting a date.... is a BIG red flag.

I agree 100% with that.  Mine was totally involved in the date setting, the ceremony, what food we served and obviously the budget.  He gaves me ideas on where (the look) of where he wanted the reception and how much he was comfortable spending.  He gave me the 1st dance song and he also picked out our private last dance song.  When I say that guys typically aren't involved (that I've heard of anyway) - it's things like the color of the cake, who the DJ is, what color the BMs wear, what the centerpeices look like... the "frou frou" stuff (according to FI)

This is one of the first things DH picked.  He wanted it a year from when he proposed but once we found the venue and that date wasn't available he was still very vocal in the new date.  If a guy can't pick a date I might wonder if there was something bigger going on and maybe he only proposed because he felt pressured, that was the logical next step, or an ultimatum.  Just my .02 though.

DH was involved in the colors, the invites, the food, the tuxes, the car, the songs, and what flavor cake the grooms cake was.  On most of those I would pick my top 5 favorites and he would narrow it down to his favorite.  The only thing that he got that I would have changed was the colors.  I wanted more colors but he was dead set on red so he got that and I didn't mind.
