Finally Officially Engaged!
I've posted a just a few times and have been mostly a lurker as I was waiting to become officialy engaged before I started really getting involved....
And that time finally came yesterday :-)
I'm super excited and I just wanted to share wtih ladies that have experienced that same excitement!
We are planninga June 2012 wedding in [email protected] Cana, Dominican Republic. I look foward to spending my planning journey with all you DW brides!

We are working on putting the deposit and signing the contract with our resort now... we have decided on June 22nd, 2012 at the Melia Caribe Tropical resort.
Here is my story... not sure if I can even tell it right...lol...
Obviously yesterday was Easter, so my FI (sounds so weird calling him that) with his sister's help had made some easter baskets for my kids (I have 3 he doesn't have any, but treats them as his own) he had set them out saturday night after they went to sleep... well, in the morning there was an "extra" basket there which was for me.... inside my basket there was all the usual things you would find in an easter basket, but there were three plastic eggs sitting in the middle... They must have been arranged properly because I opened them all in the right order without being told... the first one was just candy, the second one was a beautiful swarovski bracelet and the third one had some candy and a piece of paper that had "Will you marry me?" printed on it.
After I opened that egg, my hands started to shake a little, I was really caught off guard. we had gone together to pick out the ring so I knew it was coming, but I was expecting it to happen on memorial day weekend since him and I are going away for the weekend...I guess he knew it was too predictable and really wanted to suprise me... it worked!... It happened so fast but I was very happy that it happened with just us and the kids there.
Afterward we spent the morning at brunch with my mom and the evening at dinner with his family. It was a perfect day!

Congrats! That is so exciting! It's awesome to finally turn the planning into real planning and start accomplishing things without looking like a crazy lady! (I was there, lol!)
