Ok, sort of venting a little, but let me know what you guys think.

So, my FI's dad had his 60th birthday party this weekend, that his fiance (my FSMIL) threw for him. Actually we did all the work, she just showed up with the cake, but whatever. Anyways, this woman has been in my FI's dads life for about 3 months, and just recently met me and my FI. She gets all drunk and beliigerent at the party, and has the nerve to tell my FI that she doesn't like me, she doesn't think we are right for eachother and we shouldn't get married (among other insulting things that my FI won't tell me)! This is the first time I've ever even hung out with this woman, I have no idea where she formed her opinion, but oh well, like me or not, don't bash me to my FI, who you barely know. She barely knows the family yet, and THIS is the impression she chooses to make??

My FI said she is NOT coming to the wedding, I don't really care either way. Actually, I would rather her not be there, but is that wrong since it's my FI's dad's future wife? It's not like she's been in the picture that long...

Anyways, thanks for listening to my rant! I love reading all of yours :)

    OP, yes you probably should invite FSMIL. There might be minor drama now, but think of the major drama that would ensue if you didn't invite her. And if I told you some of the things my MIL said about me/to me, you'd probably be appalled. But she still got invited to our wedding.

    But that is just me.  I am very outspoken.  Speak my mind.  That is one of the things DH said attracted him to me.... that I have no problem telling someone "where the bear shits in the woods"!

    Mrs D, I certainly hope bears sh!t in the woods. 

    OP - did I read correctly that your future-father-in-law has only known his fiance for three months?  Anyway - if that's the impression she wants to make, then great for her.  She loves being known as an attention loving drunk.  That's no reflection on you.  So just ignore her.  My guess is that pretty much everyone else is thinking the same thing.

     I figured she just meant she'd tell you where, specifically, the bear shat.  Like, "yonder by that juniper tree.  No, a little to the left." 

    Otherwise, it makes no sense.  It isn't even an idiom, is it?

    The only way I've heard that expression is when answering a yes or no question.

    Example: Do you like chocolate?
    - Does a bear shiit in the woods?

    So, what she's saying is she says yes a lot? That, or she orders bears into the woods and tells them where to shiit. One means she's a pushover, and the other means she's a badass. I'm going to sit on the "she's uneducated" bench.
