[QUOTE]In Response to Re: life updates : GERMANY! Get a giant mug of beer and get drunk, then walk around Epcot. It's awesome. :) But really, I liked the food at Germany.

See, now that's one I probably wouldn't have thought of.  We had lefse in Norway, which was awesome.  What was your favorite in Germany?

Disney and New Orleans for sure!  We went back for BIL's wedding in October, and the food was as good as I remember.  Ok, now I seem food obsessive...but best food EVAR.  Fried duck liver from NOLA.  Yeah, I know, liver, but this is not how mom made it.

  • Squish, I'm like the pickiest eater ever, but I know NOLA will have some yummies for me.  I have to get my H on board, though :P

We're definitely doing Hawaii (honeymoon) and IN to see his family, so if I can squeeze a Poconos weekend in there, we're at three out of five.

    Fixed. :D

Squishy-- We went to the German buffet, so there were lots of options. I really liked the sausage and the jaeger sauce. But it was way fun to get tossed and then go ride Maelstrom.

Depends on what he likes.  There's something for everyone...tons of history, walk up bars and "to go" cups, the Saints, vampire and ghost tours, did I mention the food?  ;)

  • The Saints are one of his major reasons for not going, because of the Saints-Colts Superbowl. Have I mentioned that he's a sports crybaby? Tongue out

Mara, how silly of me! But seriously, we are going to be there in February over President's weekend, and then hopefully in May if I can walk--there's confusion about whether I walk in the May graduation or not at all. I'm not sure yet.

    Whew.  Well, here is goes:

    Kids:

Tristan is crawling (ack!)  Teagan is sitting up and starting to rock back and forth on her hands and knees (kind of - at least what she can get off the ground.  She's kinda fat.)  Taryn is speaking in complete sentences and has started imaginary play (so much fun!)  Tristan was in the ER a couple weeks ago with a high temperature and rapid heartbeat, but he's ok now.  Teagan has to have eye surgery for a blocked tear duct in Feb.

    House:

The exterior has been completely replaced (new roof, siding, gutters) from the tree fall during the hurricane.  Inside water damage has been ripped out and treated for mold.  Meeting with the insurance adjuster on Tues to get him to write me a check for the rebuild (estimated at about $12,000).  I am so ready for this to be over; I'm tired of being bounced from agent to agent like a pinball.

    Living situation:

Sucks.  Dad's new wife that he ordered, I mean, met, in the Ukraine is here and she's neurotic.  Dad's being a complete jackass and treating M like crap.  He got in M's face the other day for breaking his microwave "why does everything you touch break?!"  (microwave wasn't broken, BTW).  I shoved him back and he and I got into it; the fight basically ended with him telling me to find a new place to live.  I told him that he was an ungrateful bastard and that  since I live there and pay him rent, he can't simply kick us out because he gets pissed off.  We're currently not speaking.

Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

    Love all the updates!

I lost my job, and my last day was yesterday so today I filed for UI and am crossing my fingers it goes smoothly or else H and I are semi-screwed. I know unemployment is at its lowest percentages in 3 years, but I sure know an awful lot of people still getting laid off these days.
  • I'll jump in quick.
Life has been great! Back surgery in May helped wonders so far. I still have pain but definitely tolerable more then ever. I been working 2 jobs, was in school last semester. Although I have to take a break this spring from school I am anxiously awaiting finishing in the next year or so.
Been keeping busy but able to jump in here and there reading the boards. I don't post much at all but I try to keep up as much as I can.
Congrats to those of you changing jobs and getting houses. Those are definitely exciting times and experiences.

Having just gone through the whole filing for UI benefits with H, I can tell you, check your mail everyday, respond to everything they send you right away and register online for filing your weekly claims.  It will take a while but the quicker you communicate with the UI office the better.  Best of luck and I'm sorry about losing your job.  I hope you find something soon!

This made me laugh because I will forever hate them for the playoff game where the Vikings lost. I know I will hold that grudge too because I hate the falcons for the same reason and that was in 1998.

My updates aren't that interesting, my job sucks, but I have an interview on Monday for what could potentially be a great job, so my fingers are crossed.

I'm also narrowing down apartments as my move is coming up quick and I am very excited.

  • Ha, Kayla, you guys would get along with your sports grudges.

Speaking of which, he's on his way home to take me out to dinner. Later!
  • Tide, I'm sorry to hear about the living situation. I hope you guys can get back in your house soon. You shouldn't have to deal with that crap. And yay for babies crawling and moving around!
  • Hi guys! We are moving south in two weeks. I said goodbye to PA yesterday and for some reason, I bawled my eyes out. I'm only a plane ride away but no longer a drive so I got sad. Tomorrow I'm headed to Jacksonville with my best friend to find a house to rent. I'm excited and nervous as the same time. I can't wait to get a peek as to what life will be like down there. Hopefully I'll find a job soon after we move and everything will fall into place. (fingers crossed)

Kids, still loving college.  My daughter graduates in August 2012 but has informed me she is going back for an addtional degree, very cool with me because she would move home with me to obtain! woot woot.  Son is a doing well also as a sophmore.

knee, I am progressing well from my knee surgery in November, I can work, walk, and limited play.  I am allowed to swim and bike, but no major running or hiking yet!  Soon baby soon!
