I guess my problem is I've never experienced anything where there was no logical explanation for it. Some people will choose to believe that something that does have a logical explanation is paranormal. I just don't. So I guess that makes me more skeptical.

For instance, recently my computer has been playing random songs without me playing them. I was sitting in my desk chair at home, alone, and I went to get up and suddenly music started playing. It happened several more times. Some people might believe that that's a sign or some sort of paranormal activity. I say my computer is effed up and maybe I need to install some updates.

One of my grandmothers passed away about 4 years ago. In the years following, apparently one o fmy Aunts and a couple of cousins have been finding dimes everywhere. Like a dime in their shoe, underneath the sink, even just falling out of the sky. My aunt thinks it's a sure sign from my grandmother. Do I believe that it is not? No. But I also don't believe that it definitely is either.

Between FI and I, we could have an entire series of books. LoL

hmmm... Should I start with the most intresting, or the one that gave me the most goosebumps?

• Sarah, I agree about it often being associated with scary occurences. My papa (grandfather) is the opposite, he looks forward to them because he sees them as positive, being in touch with his ancestors.

His house and the one I grew up in (on the same land) are next to an old fort and a battle was held nearby (it's not even that kind of fort, but I think soliders would station there occasionally). Anyway, he says that ever since he was a kid he heard the old Native Americans in the yard, horse hoofs beating on the ground, kids laughing, since it all used to be woods. He says he'd sit outside and just listen, and I can't deny that some weird stuff happens at both those houses.
• @ anna, back in December, I was able to meet Br. Taff, one of the main investigators on the original case. my fb profile pic was one of he and I for awhile. Until too many people starting asking if he was my FI.

• FI's dad passed in the house we live in. It was almost two years ago. He died from end stage Lung cancer after smoking from the age of 12. We have lived there for about 18 months and I only met him a few times. He always tried to get FI to bring me around more so he could get to know me before he died. He built the house by himself from the ground up about 9-11 years ago.

I find his cigarette butts all over the place. They are a specific brand and nobody we know smokes them. Nobody is even allowed to smoke in the house. I have been burned in my sleep on the back of my neck. I have found the butts in my room, which nobody enters but FI and myself. Our room is on the lower lever and I hear someone's distinct footsteps on the floors above me when ever I am home alone. Things get moved or disappear. I don't have the heart to tell FI that I think his dad is still there.

Actually, yes. My college girlfriends and I rented it one night in the dorms just for the hell of it. We were looking for an old scary movie. That movie was probably one of the scariest fucking movies I've ever seen, and I've done a lot of reading online about that poor woman the film is based on. I can't even imagine - being raped by a poltergeist?! Fricken A.

• When I was still in elementary school, I woke up to see a mans face hovering over my bed, literally, just his face. freaked me out, so I closed my eyes and pretended it wasn't there, and fell back to sleep. When I woke up and walked to the bathroom, I saw the same face, in the mirror hanging across from my bedroom door, I went back and forth looking in the mirror and behind me, it wasnt behind me, but was still in the mirror.

I didn't tell anyone about it, but years later I came home from a date and my mom was going through an old photo album when I looked over her shoulder, I saw the same mans face, she went to turn the page, but I stopped her, and asked her who the man was, she looked at me, and asked me what was wrong, because apparently, I looked like I was going to pass out, I told her that I's seen him in my room as a child, and thats when she told me that he was my grandfather (he died when I was 2days old, and therefore, I'd never met him).

Ya, it sucked. For a week I had people asking me who burned my neck with a cigarette.

I usually find the experiances to be harmless, even comforting sometimes like Sara said, but every now and then it gets weird.

I've never seen family. Just semi-creepy kids.

• I'm sure you've all heard this, but I'll say it again. I was born with under-developed lungs, and was hooked up to a breathing machine / alarm for the first few months of my life. When I would stop breathing, the alarm would go off, and it would scare me into gasping for breath. If I didn't breathe, my mom would have to come in and help me breathe.

One night, the alarm went off and kept going. My mom walked in, and saw my Great-Grandfather standing over my crib, with his hand on my chest. My mom said she stood there for a few seconds, he disappeared, and she walked over.

I never had to use the alarm again.

I'll take any at this point. Apparently, ghosts don't like me.
• I pretty much feel the same way Celles does. Shocker.
• Aside from my family ghost crap, Ben says the house he and his friends lived in in Forks had a ghost in it. He was cleaning in the basement one time and he saw a little girl sitting on the stairs, watching him. He said he blinked, saw her again, then blinked one more time and she was gone.

Another time while they were partying at the house, his friend (who was best man in our wedding) came up from the basement looking white as a sheet and he's never, to this day, divulged what he saw down there.

• CCF that's amazing.

My family has had something similar happen. When my brother was a baby he had breathing trouble too. He wasn't premature, he would occasionally stop breathing in his sleep without explanation. One night my maternal Grandma called my mom at 4 am and told her to go check on DJ. She had a frantic tone, so my mom ran without question to his crib. She found him blue and not breathing, almost dead. She did the compressions the doctors taught her and he started breathing again. After the panic wore off she started to question how my Gma knew. She called her and my Gma said that her mother, who had been dead for four years, had shaken her awake so hard my grandpa even woke up, and told her to call me, something was wrong with the baby.

• I believe in ghosts/the spiritual world. I don't think that just because we have not been able to develop scientific proof doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We just haven't figured it out yet. If you think of all the scientific advances over human history (heliocentric galaxy, round universe, theory of relativity, gravity, electrons, seeing a virus under a microscope, etc), they were all there, we just didn't have the knowledge until, after much research, we did.

I think scientists should be some of the most idealistic people because when you think of how far we have come in terms of our scientific understanding of the world around us, it's amazing.

• I wish we had more requests for investigations involving the more friendly ghosts, all of our investigations seem to be for the mischif-y kind.

Dangit, I can' spell today.

• I do think that relatives and loved ones send us signs after they're gone. When my grandfather was dying (cancer), he got these terrible hiccups, sometimes for hours. We eventually would all laugh about it, but they really pissed him off sometimes. After he died, everyone in the family had hiccups right before the funeral.

My mom also suddenly gets the scent of roses out of nowhere. After the deaths of both of my gradnparents (mom's parents), we had the flower arrangements--which were rosaries made out of full rosebuds--made into real rosaries (some nuns take and crush the flowers and make necklaces, rosaries, bracelets, etc). So she thinks it's a sign from them that they're okay.
• Nates: the hiccup story is cute, the other sounds kind of comforting. I'm sure every time she smells roses it reminds her of them.

So FI told me the other day that the dog, yes, the dog, looks at him like his father used to. While in the main part of the house Lowkey (LK) only sits in the same two chairs FI father used to sit in. We have one at the head of the table and one in the living room that LK always climbs up on and looks at FI with the look that reminds him of his father. He won't sit in any of the other chairs if those specific two are occupied. There are a bazillion other chairs, but LK only sits on those two chairs. It kind of freaks FI out that the dog reminds him so much of his dad. This doesn't include the chairs he chew on, but those are in a different wong of the house.

• I usually like to see the scientific proof in order to believe in something (hence not being religious), but I definitely believe in ghosts.

My junior year I lived in a house that was supposed to be haunted. We were told this before everyone moved in (the ghost was nicknamed Zeke), so that may have influenced how I perceived everything. Doors would always shut on their own, you would hear footsteps when no one else was home and there would be times when I would wake up and swear someone was standing over me.

I really want to believe that all of those things happened because of a ghost!

• i believe in ghosts also, i've had a few personal experiences. my paternal grandmother and my mom have also had some strange experiences. someone posted about their mom randomly smelling roses, the same thing basically happened to my mom. she went to the cemetery and put an angel statue on her best friend's mom's grave, and when she got back into her car the entire car was filled with floral scents.

my grandmother moved into a new house and kept being woken up by a baby crying. she asked her neighbors if they had a new baby, and neither of them had young children. once her and my grandfather got pregnant they stopped hearing the baby crying, and eventually found out that the couple who lived in the house before them had a baby die of SIDS.

when i was about 10 i woke up and saw someone standing in the doorway with long blonde hair. i thought it was my mom so i kept calling out to her to come in but the person just stood there and then turned around and walked away. i got really scared that it was someone in our house so i ran to my parents' room (their door was shut and they were asleep) and told them what happened. after they searched the house, doors, and windows, they decided that no one was there and i was just imagining things. then i told my mom the full description of the person and she started crying and said that her older brother was killed when he was 20 (in the 70s) and had long blonde hair just like her.
