I think it's really cute, I generally love mod prints and the fabric (silk?) looks unusual too.
However, I'd have to see it on a person. That shiny material, if it's not silk, could look cheap. And it *does* look like a kids dress. If it's a kids dress, it may be too bold a print for a wee one as PPs said. And if it's a grown-up dress, it looks awfully high waisted.

It is cotton-lycra blend, so it's not that shiny in person.
Oops, I voted that I didn't like it before realizing it was for your daughter. I like it for an 11 year old girl. Wearing a black dress always made me feel grown up.

My concern is how well does the skirt stay put? High waisted like that and that full, I'd be worried her tush would get exposed in a light breeze.
