Snarky Brides

Hey

What's going on?

I'm making brownies for the kiddies and then I'm planning on making chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies with the chocolate in the middle. Nom.

Re: Hey

  • Hello!

Brownies sound amazing right now.  I was proud of myself for passing up chocolate covered Oreos today. Now I'm wishing I had gotten some.

P.S. You guys look so happy in your sig!  So pretty!

  • Nooothing. Making dinner, trying to figure out how to make our website work, thinking about the 5k I totally want to do in June. The usual.
  • I'm watching Alcatraz. Avoiding my homework. I'm also trying to force down green tea.

  • Edie--that sucks. Our rent goes up each year (except one when they were kicking people out left and right because of the recession--lots of lost jobs) and then it went up again when they redid the pet policy. Boo.

Linds--thanks! I just got this one. And yeah, the brownies smell delicious I want them so bad :P

Any, how's the rest of the wedding stuff coming along?

    I'm reading Delirium. It's good.
  • My students loved Delirium!  They think it's better than the Uglies, but I disagree.

  • Hi!

We're watching Burn Notice, eating pizza, and waiting for our unexpected house guest to get into town.

    AAAAAND now I want brownies.

Well, got the candles for our centerpieces, I totally forgot to call the hairdresser today, gah, trying to figure out some issues with our website since apparently it won't let people RSVP, and foffing wedding channel put up a registry that shows up with google search, that I can't get rid of even though there's NO REGISTRY FFS.

    Howdy!

After finally reaching my art project due date, I've declared tonight to be a homework-free night.  So We're watching cheesy amazing car accident footage shows, I'm randomly picking on my husband, and I'm thinking a nice long bath sounds good about now.
  • Damn, some of you are freaking productive.  I had a work thing after school, came home, cooked and now I'm dead.  I just spread some butterscotch chips over the top of a third of the brownies. Hopefully it's nom.

I haven't read Uglies in some time, but I am really enjoying Delirium.  At first, I thought the concept seemed ridiculous, but the writing is really good and it doesn't seem farfetched at all.

Eff you, Any's website! You need to work NOW. (I try to be helpful)
  • Watching Modern Family....and nothing else.

We're boring, I think I'm going to bed.

  • Hi ladies!

Since you're all such amazing resources for beauty tips, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a lifelong struggle I've had with my damn hair.  I don't even want to post a picture because it looks like hell but whatever--

(had a scratch on my forehead as it flashed, oops)

So... my hair is pretty wavy, and I like wavy, but it's so frizzy and random looking, so I never wear it wavy when I go out.  I straighten it basically every day.  Is it possible to make it look nice?

  • I catch Burn Notice every once in awhile, and I really like it.  I'd like to see it from the start though.

I'm looking forward to continuing to watch Sherlock Holmes on Netflix.  The BBC tv version that is.  So far, it's pretty awesome.  I love how they've updated it, yet keeping exactly how I expect Holmes to be.

  • I'm watching Dr. G and doing homework. After looking at so many houses over the past few months we're considering apartments again. I didn't want to go back to apartments, but I think it may be the only option at this time. We went and looked at some land today to hopefully build on, but it just confirms that there is zero pieces of land that have much potential at all around here.

  • Ehhh I want to keep it long, because I love how it looks long/straight.  You're right, though, when it's shorter, it's less frizzy.

  • Hello! I just got done with a much needed 30 day shred workout. I think I ate my weight in food yesterday.

I'm browsing the threads from earlier today, trying to get caught back up after my hiatus. And changing my sig to the cute puppeh ;)

If you find out, let me know. My hair's thin, frizzy and half wavy, half stupid when I let it dry naturally. Moroccan Oil has been pretty good to me, if I rub a bit between my palms and run it through my hair after I've dried it. Haven't found any permanent fixes though.
  • OMG CON IS ON TK.

I'm having a house-buying manic episode. I want a house so bad.  And I discovered that my dream homes were constructed around 1920-1930.  Man, do I love those.  I can't stay off Zillow.

  • I keep hearing about the no-shampoo technique, and it sounds like it works but I am SO APPREHENSIVE about it.  Man.  I feel like my hair would be so nasty.

  • I love Modern Family.

Mand, I don't know but I just started using the Organix Moroccan Oil shampoo and I love it. It made my hair so silky straight when I blew it dry. There's a ridiculously in-depth discussion on my FB, lol.

Conifer, I will bring treats to our next GTG. Which will be, like, immediately because I miss your face.

Veggie--I feel your pain. We've decided to rent for the next year, start TTC next spring and then hopefully house shop. Blegh. I want to be settled now. We are going to start searching for bigger places soon, which also sucks.
  • I have never personally tried it but I have heard good things about the Wen hair system. Maybe that's something all you wavy haired girls could look into?

What pisses me off is that we had a great budget and we literally went down the list of every available house in our area. Every. Single. House was shiit. Either terrible foundation issues, flood problems, or the entire inside would need to be gutted once we got in. I don't understand why a builder would spend so much money building a house and put it right where a hill rolls water in your backdoor.

ETA: I'm sure you've heard this a ton, but your dress looks amazing on you.

  • Oh man, DJ, that is bad news.  I bet you're not the only one who made the mistake, and I bet lots of other people didn't realize it wasn't me.  BOOOO.

It's like when Any thought I was a dog-hater.  Lol.

<div>Are you looking at newer houses because most of the newer builders don't really care about what happens after they have sold the house. The faster they can build, the faster they can sell, which means they can build more houses in a year which means more money. </div>

  • Lol, Any.

Reils, I've heard about Wen and just went to look at it again.  I would LOVE to try it, but it comes to like $30/month.  I feel so weird about that, because as it is right now, I spend probably $15-20 on hair care that lasts me 3-4 months.  But I mean... maybe it's worth it...
