Actual dresses, totally not punking y'all this time.

Re: Actual dresses, totally not punking y'all this time.

  • Well, my two (or three, or four) cents is that my favorites are #4 and then #7.  I wish the neckline on #7 were more fitted... I was squinting at the mirror at the back of it, and it looks like it wasn't completely fastened?  That may be all that would need to wow me.  #4 I like the shape for you, and I like the ribbon contrast... I can't pull that look off, but I think it looks great on you.  #3 would be my third choice.

I have to say I do not like #6 that much.  #6 is probably my absolute least favorite.  I don't think the top half of it does anything for you... it's plain and it's a uni-boob straight-across look, and combined with the pick-up skirt... bleh.  Sorry.  It'd look better with a sweetheart neckline (which shouldn't be too hard in alterations), but I just think the other dresses look so much better on you.

I like what the waist of #2 does for you, but have to agree about the straps drawing the eye away.

#1 and #5 just don't wow me at all.  I think the other dresses work much better with your body.

Thanks for showing the dresses! :)  I love looking at dresses, and it's so nice to see them on a real person and not a doll.

[QUOTE]There was a dress that I tried on and loved in person, but didn't like it in pics.  I couldn't pick it knowing that it didn't photograph well (or that I didn't look good in it) even though I loved how I felt.

hmmmm very good point. This makes me change my answer.
None of the bridal stores I went to let me take pictures so this never ocurred to me. I think it's awesome so many people get pics ahead of time.

This was VERY true for me.  It got to the point I needed photos of myself in the dresses to feel comfortable about them.  Even at stores that didn't allow photos, I managed to get them by talking to the consultant about my dilemma, taking them on my digital camera, looking at them there, and then deleting them while the consultant watched.  It wasn't as good as downloading to the computer, but it helped.

(ETA: I had said #1 and #8, but I meant #2 and #7!) are my faves... You found a lot of great ones! Something about number 8 just seems "you," as stalker-ish as that sounds. I love how unique, fun, and flirty it is. Probably would look amazingly swishy when dancing :)

I'm so happy it was a good positive experience for you!
  • I love 5. I think that looks great on you. I like 6, but I like that dress style. I don't like dress 7 in general, but I think it looks great on you.

  • Mine looks a bit like #2, except mine's strapless and the waistline hits just below the bust.  The chiffon is super comfy, flowy, and it just makes me feel pretty.  It's hard for me to tell if I like #2 on you because I picked out one like it, or if it's because it really looks good on you.  With the others though, it seems like there's too much going on.
  • I think 7 is the most flattering, closely followed by 4. I have no idea what 2 looks like in person, of course, but it's not showing well in the pics.

Two or three.  They give you really great shapes, but I'm not huge on the drapey sleeve things for two.

If two didn't have the drapey sleeve things, that would hands down be my favorite.  The cap sleeve thing would make it perfect.

Three came in a close second because it shows off your fabulous shape!
  • Although I think the dress in photo 7 is the prettiest and most my style, the dress in picture 4 seems to be better fitting and thus complimenting your body. That said, given they're probably not in your size right now (judging by lady in background fiddling with them!) dress 7 could actually be the best if it were a little more tailored to your body (it just seems a little straight up and down in that picture). And I agree with others- some floating cap sort of sleeves on #7 would be quite awesome, I think.
  • 7 is definitely my favorite!  Followed by 4 and 5.

I love the back of dress 2, but I agree with previous posters about the sleeves/straps not being the most flattering.
  • I LOVE 7. Its beautiful. I also like 6, but im probably biased since I almost bought that dress. :)

  • Without having read where this thread went, and being SUPER late (but hey, I can't help the time difference!) here are my opinions as I'm flipping through the photos.

    Surprisingly like dress 2

    dress 4, 5 and 7

It's interesting because I had really strong dislike reactions to all of the other dresses, and I mean ALL.  Normally, I look at them more objectively, but I think when I came across the ones I liked, I thought, "Oooh, that gives her a nice shape!"  Of the ones that I liked, dress 2 and dress 7 were the best for me.  They seemed to kind of "flow" over your body and give you such a wonderful shape.  Love it.  Good choices!
  • I like dresses 3 ad 5.  I'm not digging the gathered/wrapped detail at the waist on 7, where it has a V that goes up, it just doesn't sit right with me. I think 3 and 5 are more flattering on you.

  • I love #7 and #5. #7 is the most slimming and I love the top.
  • Good call Amoro, lets blame the time difference.

I wasn't excited about them until I got to #5, then I went "ooh".  When I got to #7, I "ooohed AND awed"

    So I vote for 5 or 7

  • I really like four and seven.  You look great in all of them.

  • I didn't read everyone else's responses yet, but I will say definitely 100% dress #4.  It made me swoon and is by far the most flattering one on you out of those that you linked.

I also liked dress #2 and how slimming it was on you, but I'm not crazy about the straps and off the shoulder dealy.

I don't like dress #3 or #5 on you at all.  #5 is too low on your breasts and #3 is just too I don't know what, typical.

  • I don't know if you are still checking this... but 4 or 7.  I *love* seven.
  • I really like dress 5 and 7 on you.
Which one do you like the best?
  • You look beautiful in all of them!  My favorite is probably #6.
  • Seven is heaven! :) You have terrific curves and that dress is so pretty on you.
  • I'm not a regular so you may not care for my opinion, but I love 7 on you (though you are right, there are quite a few that look great).

Let us know what you pick!
  • 7.  Times a million.

  • For the record, I don't think "fish" with number 7, but "Ancient Greek Goddess"

I think there are good things about all of them except number 1 and 6. On 1, it looks like the beading is attacking your bosom, and number 6 is tres trendy.

  • Ok, I haven't read anyone else's responses yet so they wouldn't skew my opinion. :P I LOVE dress #7! Dress #3 gives you a great shape, too, but it's the same dress we see on everyone right now. Dress #7 has a gorgeous shape on you and character of it's own while remaining elegant and relatively simple in shape.

    Dress #7!

Also? You look beautiful in all the dresses! Did you pick them out yourself or did the consultant pick them for you? Gorgeous choices. :)
