[QUOTE]Ocean- KitchenAid makes a ice cream maker that is compatable with the mixer. Both the smaller tilt head one and the larger level lift one. I don't know how much they are, but the less appliances the better right?

$79.99 at BBB.  We originally had this on our registry, but I took it off.  We don't eat ice cream enough to warrant making it ourselves.

Also, Oceana, we originally looked at the "Fire and Ice" Bowl at Target, but decided we don't hang out outside enough to warrant it either.

Our registries have gone through amazing changes in the past couple of months as we realize that even though we wanted stuff originally, we will never use it and it'll just take up space.

Because of this thread I just went through my registries and updated AGAIN.

I added a 7-qt Le Creuset casserole dish in Flame (I was going to settle for a Target knock-off, but this is supposed to LAST), bright blue ramekins and yellow dipping sauce cups (I hate for my food to touch).

I might add some napkins, too. And I need to find a cake knife and server.

Acro, hetsh - thanks for the heads up about the ice cream maker! Ice cream is a personal fave, so I'd use it all the time (especially summer time)...it's so hard to find lowfat/healthier ice cream, I want to be able to make my own.

Acro, you make a good point. We wouldn't be able to use the firebowl where we live now (no open flames), but both FI and I agreed we'd use it nearly every weekend in the winter time once we get a house.

Oh by all means, if you'll use it, I think they're awesome.  FI and I just wouldn't use it in the summer, and in the winter we're at work until dark and usually just want to come home and lay around on the couch afterwards rather than go sit outside in the dark.  If we were here on weekends it may be worth it, but we end up traveling at least two weekends out of the month, so it really wouldn't be useful to us no matter how awesome they are.  If you're going to use it often, I say definitely go for it, and maybe we'll come visit!  :-)

Oceana: I got that ice cream maker for xmas and have made so many delicious ice-creams with it! It's so hard to make the good-for-me ones when the bad-for-me ones are so tasty! I imagine the kitchen-aid attachment would work similarly, but I'm pleased as punch with this one if you decide to forgo the cupboard space.
