SIL called H yesterday frantic because her toilet was LEAKING!!!!1!!! but then called back saying maybe it just overflowed, and he went and looked at it.

Sure enough someone plugged it and it overflowed. Then SIL made mention that since today is EARTH DAY!!11eleventybillion! that she was thinking of putting a brick in the tank of her toilet.

::record screech::

What. I've never even heard of such a stupid thing.

Essentially it will displace water, therefore you "Save" water by only needing x amount-displaced amt to fill the tank. EXCEPT now you have less to flush with, thereby you may want to flush twice at times....nullifying the "benefits".

Yes I've heard this. It does work for urine, but not poo. Since you poo less often you can save water.

Yep, I've heard of it, too. It works on the same idea as the toilets at Ikea. Less water for urine, more for poo.

Yeah. Nobody wants that. Trust me: we spent the first couple years in this house flushing twice for pee and three or four times for everything else. She's a moron.
