</div><div>I have two BFAs: Painting and Visual Effects - Compositing.  I really REALLY love folklore and mythology, though, especially the Arthurian Legend. UC Berkeley has a Folklore program and I looking into doing a Masters there. The prerequisites are a bit harder than just taking a few undergrad classes. I would need to have a working understanding of another language, preferably German but French would do as well. If you are looking into Classics I would check language requirements. I don't know if they actually ask you to understand Greek or anything since most things are translated into English, but oftentimes they will require you to read stories in the original languages.</div><div>

  • Hi!!

Ok, I admit my Grammar thread was random.  I stand by what I said, but admit it was random, maybe unnecesary to create the thread.

I wasn't thinking of the Kinsey scale when I made up my UN, but it occured to me later and yeah.... it's not a good connotation.

Anna, what do you mean "fake" ?  I forgot who else agreed, but what do you guys mean by "off"

  • Ok I just posted, but I think it ate my post.  This is what I said:

I admit my Grammar thread was random.  I still stand by what I said, but the thread itself was random and probs unnecessary.  (Also, grammar nazi, honestly i AM sorry I used that, i actually don't like that term either.. shame on me).

My username, I wasn't thinking of the sex scale when I created it, but I thought about it afterwards, and I also don't really like the connotation.

Anna, what did you mean by "fake" and whoever else agreed, what do you mean by "off"
  • I agree Burnt... But kittens with sparkles sound pretty awesome

  • Is something up w/ TK??  I have tried to respond to my flame 2x now.
  • Hi!

I hate being so late to FFF because anything I want to say is way out of date.  Like how LOTR is anti-sexy to me.  Actually, all the male actors in the LOTR series are forever unsexy to me, including Orlando whatshisface.  Sorry.

I have no flames.  I mean, there's been an awful lot of ridiculous WR crap going on, but it's hard to flame the newbs.  I did see that pinkrn posted on SB, and she was as ridiculous as ever, but meh.

Bubbs!  I remember wanting to study anthro with a focus on folklore after hearing Alan Dundes lecture to my intro anthro class at Cal.  It's weird to think he died, he was such a central focus of that department.  :\

  • TK keeps eating my posts, but I am trying to respond to my flame...

    1. My grammar thread was random, I admit.  I don't take back what I said, but I admit it was random and I guess unnecessary.  I apologize for the use of grammar naz, I dont even like that word and I cringe myself at it, so shame on me.

    2. I didn't think of the connotation of my unsername when I made it, but I later on realized/thought about it, and I agree it's not cool.

    3. What do you mean by "fake" or "off"

The main page told me Kinsey was the last poster in here. Dangit.

ETA - Appartently TK is deleting posts again.
  • Kinsey, I mean that I do not think you are a real person.

Oh ok, like my whole account is just fake?  I wasn't sure if you meant that, or like that I was a FAKE person, like "Oh you are so cute," but in a fake way.

Yeah, I hear you.  I think if I had a sig pic, I would seem more real.. however, whatever, it seems like a pain to figure out how to do it.  Plus, I guess I AM comfortable staying more annonymous.

I'm actually in LA.. I need to change my info for that as well.

I also am not getting married, I just like hanging out here.  But FTR, I HAVE come clean that I'm single and even asked if there were other boards about dating, etc.  But MKrup (I am pretty sure it was her) said that you guys are accepting of ALL relationship statuses, and it made me feel very welcome and warm and fuzzy inside <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-kiss.gif" border="0" alt="Kiss" title="Kiss" />

<div>I meant a couple of things. Mostly, you don't seem very authentic. </div><div>

  • I kind of get the advice to at least tell him you're going to call, but there's no reason to wait until he finally decides it's okay.

H tried to convince his brother to change on his own, before the authorities got involved. BIL has a record, and H genuinely thought he could help the animals without involving animal control or the police.

Ha, sorry for the "ppl".. you're right, and I didn't even notice I was doing it.  (I also will probably not stop TBH).

Ok, so then in YOUR case you DO mean that I seem fake like f@ke bitchy?  Huh.  I dunno... I think I am a pretty genuine person.  What about me strikes you as inauthentic?  **I understand though that you may not have any examples per se, just a general vibe/feeling... in which case, I can't really dispute you

ETA: Just realized I blurred out a letter in the wrong word here "f@ke bitchy"
  • I understand letting him know beforehand that you're going to call and that you mean business, but no in know way would I need him on the same page and if he tried to tell me to stay out of it, we'd end up re-evaluating some things.

  • I would've called from my cell phone in the car on the way home.  It's ridiculous that OP hasn't done anything for those dogs.

  • I flame the OP for not calling anyone yet.

I also flame the girl who works at the no-kill shelter for thinking it's better that the 14 year old stay in that home until he's re-homed than it is to humanely euthenize him.  14 is pretty old for a golden anyway.  He's probably very close to the end as it is now.

  • I get feeling conflicted about calling, especially when you know it's going to cause an uproar. I do get it. I don't agree with it, but I get it.

</div><div>I back this flame. Also, a shelter that does euthanize isn't necessarily just going to take him and put him to sleep right away. It would depend on his condition and his adoptability, among other things. At least he would be taken care of in the meantime.</div><div>

  • Yeah, shelters aren't itching to kill animals. They'll put it off for as long as they can.
