I judge

Re: I judge

  • My parents have a husky that stays outside all the time. She has a dogloo and really is a happy dog. Also, the fur in tuffs thing in normal. They shed like crazy every year.

  • TJ, my H's boss had two dogs. One stayed chained in the garage all the time and the other had an invisible fence collar on. You could tell they NEVER had human interaction because we had to feed them one time while they were out of town, and the dogs went BSC just to get some interaction. My H said anytime he ever went over there, the one dog was outside and the other one was in the garage. Why bother having pets if they live their whole lives alone staring at the wall or a tree?

I don't get it and I judge it ALOT.

I also judge people who leave their dogs crated 24/7. Dogs aren't supposed to live like prisoners.
  • I judge people who really think that people put that much thought into these boards. Whit, thank goodness, posted something about her situation on chit chat. But do you really think she cares if we hate her husband?? I doubt it!

I also judge people who judge grocery carts. I have been to the store with my 4 year old with a cart full of food for our Christmas Eve party.(Pop, juice, chips, dip, and a cake. It was at my house so I didn't have to bring the "real" food)  The cashier asked my daughter "Wow, does your Mommy ever cook?" I looked at that heffa and said "Does she look like she doesn't eat. These things are for a party. You want an invite?" I left that cart sitting right there!!!

I also judge the parents of my student who I bought 10 t shirts for and he still comes to school dirty. I asked him what happened to the shirts and he said that his family member stole them. WTF!?!

And the whole time, my future husband was in the room...... image image

I don't think a husky - or ANY dog - was necessarily made to spend an entire Arizona summer outdoors. And this dog does not have a house of any sort. It lays up against their sliding glass door every day.

And really, I'm just going to have to cop to being judgmental on this subject, but if your dog can't come in the house and be part of the family, why even have a dog? This dog is outside 24/7. I think it's a damned shame.

  • I judge the people live down our street whose living room looks like something out of Hoarders.  I'm not even exaggerating.  Our street is tiny and our front doors are all right on the sidewalk, so you can see into everyone's houses.  If you are going to keep the house like that, why don't you close the blinds?

Same. We are crate training Sheldon because he's 8 months old and not housebroken and completely untrained right now, so very difficult to handle on my own (he bites!), but every 40 minutes or so, I put on my heaviest sweatshirt (to protect myself from his BITES) and take him out in the front or back yard for some running and some petting. I know he's supposed to be in the crate enough to feel like his crate is his home, and to learn to hold it for long stretches by being in the crate but I can't HELP it!

We also let him out (on a leash) in the house in the evenings for 30-90 minute blocks of time, as long as one of us is available to hold him.

I don't know when I turned into such a dog person, but I guess I basically judge anyone who is shocked by/refuses to take on the work involved when you get  dog. Which includes letting them interact with people!

That is one of the saddest things I've ever heard. I read somewhere about it being EXTREMELY unhealthy to have a husky in that kind of heat, as they're built for the cold. Hell, just going from Toronto to the southern states I ended up with heat stroke in April, and I don't have a fur coat.

Actually, since Whit has been a long-time reg on E, I DO think she cares what we think and knows that we just want the best for her and that's why she came here to vent/for advice in the first place.

This may be a regional difference. I'm sure it's not quite as warm here as it is in Arizona. If we get a dog, he/she will be an outside dog as well. I think there should definitely be some sort of shelter or dog house. But I really don't see a problem with a dog staying outside. In our situation, it would have much more room to run and play and still get attention.

  • Yeah, I have to agree about the husky in the Phoenix heat.  That's insane.
  • Oh, and I also think it's dumb to judge people on their shopping carts.  You have no idea why they're buying what they're buying.

I think as long as it's not 100 degress outside everyday and the dog has shelter and plenty of water it's fine. But some people just tie their dogs to trees with no water and no shade, and that's not cool.

I'm with you on this one. I have crazy food allergies and need to carefully read the ingredients on almost everything I buy. I actually had some b!tch come up to me a few weeks ago while I was looking at something and tell me that I'm too skinny to have to worry about calories. Someone should throw him against a wall, or you know, off a 10 story building.

Yeah I agree. I do all my shopping for produce, meats, and anything that I want to buy organic (basically everything healthy) at one certain grocery store that takes about 20 minutes to get to, simply because their stuff is SO much higher quality but pricey. I go to the grocery store across the street for snacks and quick stuff. The other week I bought a pint of ice cream, a 2-liter of soda, a frozen pizza, a few yogurts, and beer. Judge away. :p

  • One friday night I was going to be watching a movie and wanted some junk food.  I went to the grocery store to get them since it's open til 11 and so much cheaper than the kwik e mart.  I got my cheezies and a pepsi.  Felt so stupid doing it.  I am allowed though.  I always have fruit and veggies in my fridge... I never have junk food in my cupboard though.  Not unless I bought them for a specific reason (party, gathering, specifc craving).

  • Ditto Mandy. I never buy junk food with the rest of my shopping. I only buy it when I'm really craving it. That way, I have to make a conscious effort to get the bad food. So on those particular trips, my cart doesn't look too hot.

I don't think this is a regional thing. I also judge people who leave dogs outside all the time, regardless of season. Here in Wisconsin the Winters are more dangerous than the Summers, but it was close to 90 degrees all last week. That's too hot for a dog to be left out.
  • I judge...

College students who get pets and then a year later move into a place that doesn't allow pets.. then act like it's not their fault they can't take care of them

Girls who cheat (or do shady things) then are insecure about their boyfriends

Girls who act like their monthly cycle is an excuse to be a b****.. seriously.. we all get them.. get over yourself

The guy who bought a giant bag of cheese puffs and diet pills

I know! I'm usually quick on my feet but I wasn't sure what to even say to her. I think there was an awkward pause and then I told her it wasn't any of her damn business.
  • I judge DH's cousin who just called to say her dog - the dog that we rescued/fostered and then gave to her because she wanted a new one and swore she'd take care of it - ran away. We had previously discussed the fact that he couldn't be let out by himself cause he'd leave, yet she thought that leaving him in the front yard with the 2'6" fence with giant gaps in it was ok? DH is really sad :(

Following this, I also judge girls who are overly squeamish and immature about their periods.  You've had one every month for like, the last ten years, and you're running around going "ewww omg blood is grosss!!"  How are they not used to their body's normal adult functions? Do they yell "ewww gross!!" everytime they poo? Geez.  It's one thing to not enjoy your period, but to be so dramatic over it is worthy of the side-eye IMHO.

  • I judge the outside dog thing in its entirety. I don't see why you wouldn't let your pet in the house. Some dogs want to be outside, but they should have the option. The dog needs more than the hour maximum that people likely spend outside with it. If you don't want dogs in your house, then don't get a dog.
