Oh an Mica, DO IT! There's always going to be something about a house that you're eventually going to have to spend money on. Why not be the house you love?
cfaz - Try washing your face with a mixture of water, lemon juice and a bit of baking soda for a few days. Then spot treat with crushed onion. Seriously. I was going through a tough spell of brutal acne out of nowhere and I did this and it's gone. Completely.
Mica - That's a tough decision. What shape are the big things, like windows, doors, roof, foundation, furnace and electrical in? Those are your biggest costs right there. Cosmetic can be done much cheaper if you know what to look for.

Morning. We took the cats to the vet yesterday. They think the older one just has hair stuck in the esophagus and gave us something for that. The new one has a small respiratory infection. The vet said it was common when adopting from any rescue place. It just made me feel sad but we have meds for her now.

I am super duper sore from working out last night. I also had a strange dream that I was at a lake house, at a party, and a T-Rex swam up out of the lake and went after everyone. I must have been in TX because out on the road I was trying to flag people down thinking, "This is TX, someone's got to have a shotgun (or two or three) in their trucks!"

Mica, I think you are approaching this house buying very rationally, it is a huge step! We signed the purchase agreement yesterday for the house in St John. I am of the same mindset as your husband right now. But either way, we are pressing forward. Yippy for fun in the sun.
MK-I have to run off to a meeting at 9 am, (and then have stupid meetings for most of the morning) but I am going to send you a PM later today asking questions about personal trainers. I really want to come back safely from the knee surgery and only have (Yowzers) 5 months till the wedding. Please look for it later today and provide feedback if you don't mind.
Mica, the best time to paint a house is before you move in anyway (provided you can afford it). There's no furniture to move or cover up.
Oh noise at odd times. One of my neighbors gets his motorcycle around 10pm at least 3-4 times a week, revs it up and rides it around the neighborhood. It's really loud.
Good morning all! It was a gross commute this morning, had to use my windshield wiper fluid like 8 times. At least it was working though, half the time it doesn't work in the winter.
I stopped at my parents before going to school and my brothers were still there because I guess the school is having a late start due to a student suicide. Man it bums me out.
Yeah, I think both of my brothers "knew" him but I don't know how closely. My mom told me because they were in the other room when I was there. I know how it feels to lose someone that way and I hate that anyone else ever has to experience it.

I'll keep my eyes out for it, but if I don't respond quickly, page me to remind me it's there.
Mica on the note of buying a house we were the same way. I would be really excited and then like oh shiiit so expensive. But in the end we love the house we bought and it is really nice to come home to a place you own.
Methinks I'm dying a little. My neck/throat hurt so bad. I always get paranoid when that happens because my brother had cat scratch fever as a kid, and I remember that started with flu-like symptoms and a sore neck. A sore body has also led to pneumonia for me many times in the past. Hypochondriac, party of me.
In better news, the project manager for one of our big partners just told me he prefers my writing over others, so that was a good boost.
That's exciting about the house Mica! Big decisions are always equal parts terrifying and awesome, haha.
I am have a SHIIT week so far. Crap at work, bank issues, and now I think I've caught H's cold and I'm going to my mom's this weekend to hang out with her and I don't want to be all snuffly for that. I'm loading up on vitamin C.
MuSu - hahahahaha I missed that Lala quote, but yeah...I feel the same way.
ETA: Aaaaand I'm a jackass because I responded before I read your post, really. I'm sorry
Re: HEEEEY WEDNESDAY!
So the cat's name is Skittles, so there. Done.

Petal, glad the kitties are ok and easily treated with meds.
I have never had a Bruegger's Bagel. I hear they're really good though.

Sesh, do you have a stiff neck or just a sore throat? If it's a stiff neck you should probably get it checked out, not to freak you out or anything.
