So I'm getting ready to go try on dresses for the second time but this time at a store that specializes (ie ONLY has) 12+. This means I should be able to try on a plethora of different styles to at the very least figure out what works for me and my body. I most likely will not walk away with anything today but at least after today I'll be able to search the ads of the pre-owned gown sites knowing what I'd looking for. PS I've upped the budget by a it (we saved on the ceremony and the rings so there's a bit of wiggle room

Good luck !!!! Keep an open mind. Try on styles you don't think you'll like. You might be surprised !!

Good Luck from me as well! I will second the try on all the styles and see advice. I wish there was a shop that I could go to that specialized like that. I told one of the places I'm trying on next week my size and they just said "we have a few." This could get ugly.

It was a great experience!! It was just me, my MOH and the consultant. I tried on about 5 but really loved one. Andew Adela? Neve even heard of- but it's considered a 'casual gown' No tain, satin with pickups and it made me feel so pretty! With alterations it'll be double my budget so I am going to have to think about it...but I could move some numbers around lol...

That's the kind of expereince I expected and it was so much fun!

So glad you had a great experience! I've only heard of 1 plus size store around here, believe it or not, and it's associated with House of Brides, which has a HORRIBLE reputation so I didn't even bother. Did you take any pics?

It's about $100 (withour alterations) more than I wanted to spend.
