In Response to Re: Freestyle Friday Festival (my version of FFF) : It's coming through on your blog too, to be honest. I think part of that is influncing my feeling, but I didn't want to bring that up here, since it's not totally relevant. I haven't been reading the GM threads and didn't realize. I wish the old Emily would come back though. She's the bees knees.

Yeaaaah, the last post wasn't the most positive. I don't think you would have liked the blog when I first moved here and spent a lot more time hating Chile and 90% of the people in it.

But yes, I agree with you on the last part. I haven't been able to figure out why I'm in this funk yet, and I just can't quite seem to get out of it. I'm hoping switching my BC will help because I think a lot of this coincides with going on the pill I'm on now. If that turns out to be the magic cure it will be great.

    ET, of course.

Eta: bet you didn't know ET was based on a hairless cat. Or maybe you guessed.

TR, my first thought was ET too.
  • I'm so so annoyed that its "ChildFree: Not by choice" and NOT "ChildFree: Not by Choice"

    It hurts my eyes.

  • So... they disguised a bike-riding alien... by wrapping him in a blanket and toting him around like a bag of potatoes? This movie sounds fascinating.

ET doesn't like, pop out of someone's stomach all Alien style right? Because that would be the cherry on top of my nightmare.
In Response to Re: Freestyle Friday Festival (my version of FFF) : I admitted in both all posts about the voting thing that I basically knew it was outlandish and never would and never could happen for a variety of reasons. I also admitted in the thread that I knew the eugenics comment was similar in some ways to me saying the thing about voting (although it is my opinion that forced sterilization is more outlandish than voter tests, but whatever). When people say stuff about restricting who is allowed to reproduce it does make me think they have no knowledge of the eugenics movement, and I've seen comments like that on here (and elsewhere) multiple times and it's always bothered me so I finally said something about it. And the book thing was also in an unpop opinion thread. I think I was misunderstood, you think I backpeddled. Whatever. It's the internet, people don't always come across the way they intend to.
    Posted by annakb8
My issues was NOT that what you said was outlandish. I get it, I get where the feeling is coming from. But then you practically bashed someone for something ALSO outlandish and would never happen. I just don't appreciate having my intelligence called into question because I choose to read a pop culture book or the totally baseless opinion that most people don't know what eugenics is. And yes, it was my intelligence brought into question too because both were total blanket statements.

  • When ET gets all dried out like, he totally looks like old dog poop.

I couldn't look at the dead baby pic. That's not something I need to see. So I'll assume ET is an accurate representation.

I didn't see the ET-like baby sig. Thank goodness my work computer selectively screens tickers and siggies.

(To whomever said it before, I, too, worry that Mel's about to slip in the snow.)

Kinda like a prune. He doesnt' do well in our environment/atmosphere so he starts slowly dying and drying out. Basically from grape to raisin type thing.

  • Alix - Go rent it! It's a weird-ass movie. Really it is. I think you'll enjoy it. If not, at least you'll have something to compare the dead baby to.

Mel, did you fall? It looks like you might fall.

  • I can't believe I missed all this. I've been getting a mani and pedi.

If I remember correctly I think the new bump board was named by posters on the IF board or something like that. I can't remember the exacts. But the IF girls that knew they would never get pregnant and choose to not do anything further or adopt and what-have -you, wanted a board just for themselves. So they took a poll on names and ended up with that.

Not saying it's right, I totally agree with you, Daff. (and everyone else) Just stating what I know.

Andplusalso. The dead baby is creepy and sad.
