i don't think i have ever had a "picnic"...but i am going to say if i was on one....i would want some cheese and crackers (cuz lets face it cheese and crackers are great anywhere)...some sort of sandwich....some grapes....and because of a post from the other day...cupcakes
I like fried chicken and macarroni salad, chips, soda, wine....

My former coworkers and I get together and do this thing we call adult Lunchables. It's good bread and crackers, and good cheese, and good cured meat like pepperoni and thin sliced salami and whatnot. It's awesome! If you pre slice the cheese, it's very portable too. Add wine and you're good to go.
Well, the fried chicken isn't happening. No can buy, and I don't want to make it-- too messy.
I think I will definitely go for nommy bread, cheese and fruit with some wine. We're going to the Botanical Garden here in town tomorrow to do this. H doesn't know it yet, but that's what he gets for being away.

I'd also add some kind of dip - hummus or spinach artichoke dip or something (both are really easy to make, not sure if any of the ingredients are hard for you to find though). Your picnic sounds fun.

Some hummus spread onto a tortilla and rolled up and then cut into cute little bite size snackers! Cheese. Fruit skewers. Some yummy bread and a nice spread for it.
I want to go on a picnic with Mandapanda. Prosciutto, yum! With wine, cheese and crusty bread. And maybe some hummus and carrot sticks for extra snacking.
Don't forget the dessert. Fruit tart, lemon bars, brownies, fresh strawberries.

Good bread and cheese, maybe some kind of spread (why can't I remember what it is called...olive oil, could be with pesto or maybe with sun dried tomatoes...a chunky sort of spread?), potato salad (for me, with as little mayo as possible), deviled eggs, fried chicken.
Snips, how about oven fried chicken? I make it all the time and it is delicious--and not messy!
