Snarky Brides

Hey lurkers!

Do we have any? Maybe not. This may be a bust.

Well, if you're out there. Talk to me!

Why do you lurk? Do you lurk anywhere else? How long have you lurked? What creepy things do you know about us from lurking?

Re: Hey lurkers!

  • Creepy lurker! How are you, Mag? What's new in pregnant land?
  • I lurk...have posted a few times, but not enough for it to really count. Also lurk on the Budget, Etiquette and my local board.

So yeah, hi. :-) I will try to post more often, you gals seem really awesome.
  • Hi runningbride! I remember you. You're the one that's lost a shitton of weight, right?
  • Yep, I did....nice to chat with you again, cew. :-)
I am a total creeper. I'm doing really well! I am up at my parents, I had my "home" baby shower today, and I now have a car load of adorable baby girl sweaters and the what not. I just had pre-dinner, and am meeting up with friends for "real" dinner at 7! I am huge, with another 3 months to go. Holla. How has your weekend been?
    Posted by mag920
Yay! Baby showers are so much fun. I'm so glad you got some cute stuff. Little baby girl things are so stinkin adorable.

My weekend has been okay. Matt's brother turned 21 today and he went to Chapel Hill last night to party with him. He is still there. He's alive, but I think they went a little crazy last night. They lost Matt's friend Colin and finally found him this morning on some stranger's couch.

Ben and I went to Toys R Us today to get him a graduation present. When we got there, he told me that Toys R Us was the greek goddess of toys. I have no idea where he gets this stuff.

We also went swimming today. Now, I've got mac and cheese in the oven and green beans on the stove. Fun times!

Been pretty OK...trying to start planning the wedding, looking for a new job, and marathon training have been keeping me busy (and hungry!)

Looking forward to the UFC fight tonight with FI and some friends of ours.

    Anything new with you?</div>
  • Oh wow. I need a tutu. Little Mag is going to be the most adorable baby ever.

How is your little brother doing?
One of my favorite thing I received was this ridiculously soft onesie, that has a bunny tail!  I also got a bright purple tutu, which is awesome. I had purchased one myself, so I feel like she probably needs one for every day of the week. OMG, I laughed about the losing the friend thing. I've never been the friend lost, but I've lost many a friend!  Ben cracks me up!  I love the things they say! Greek Goddess of toys!? HAHAHAH My new litlte brother is obsessed with my belly. He talks to it, and asks me if baby girl can come and play with him.  He also had me open my mouth, so that he could talk to her.  When my best friend came over today, he got all flustered and told her that she was really pretty and that he liked her dress! HE'S SIX. Hi runningbride! Anything fun happening?
    Posted by mag920
Not much right this minute...just knotting while FI watches a movie. We're watching the UFC fight tonight, so I'm pretty excited about that. How 'bout you? The baby shower sounds like it was a lot of fun. I love baby girl clothes. :-)

I have definitely got to become un-invisible. Need to find an av or sig pic, ASAP.

When is your wedding? How much do you have planned?

Nothing much is new with me. We decided to renovate our house, but are still in saving mode, so I've been drooling over decorating blogs for the last few weeks. Ben starts kindergarten in a couple of weeks, so that will be interesting.
  • I just think you're parents are so awesome for what they are doing. I have a friend who is in the process of adopting 3 kids. She already has a 2 year old that she adopted when he was a few months old and these new kids are 7,5, and 18 months. She's fostering them now and will start the adoption process soon.

<div align="left"><div align="left"><div align="left">We're looking at spring/summer 2012, so all we're doing now is looking at venues to get a feel for prices/options (oh yeah, and saving $$). The plan is to start making appointments in the fall and have a date set by early next year. I figure once the date is set, other decisions will be a little easier.
In Response to Re: Hey lurkers! : I am pretty in awe of them myself!  I love that your friend is doing that!  From what I've seen, adoption is NOT easy, especially with multiples! I've had SO many people ask me "Oh! What country is he from?!"  I think that's a weird question!

  • Mag - that is a weird question. I guess the people think that the only way to adopt is by going out of the country. Hmm.

    Hi Sarah!

I'm also debating a run to Krispy Kreme after we finish dinner. I've been craving a donut since last night.

Cew, I want a donut too, but if I went I'd get a whole dozen. I'm a sucker for economies of scale! I just ate a whole cantaloupe instead, and now I might get sick.
