October 2012 Weddings

RSVP Cards and Menu Selections

Originally we were going to do a buffet line but now we have switched to a plated meal where the guests will pick out their meal when they RSVP.  We will include a statement that says "We have reserved ___ seats in your honour" and it could be anywhere from 1 to 4 seats reserved for one family/person.  I need to know which person is having which meal because we will somehow color code the place card so that the wait staff will know who gets what.

I'm at a loss as to how I can write this all out and keep it elegant and not confusing for the guests on the RSVP cards.

Re: RSVP Cards and Menu Selections

  • Can you write something like please idicate your choice by writing your name next it? something along those lines?  Maybe have the food choice first and the lines after it? That would give more room to write on.

  • We put something like "please initial beside your choice of entree" at the bottom of the rsvp card. We are going to include details of the entrees on the website so ppl can see how it is cooked or what sauce it is.

  • Most weddings I've gone to, the waitstaff comes around beforE dinner is served to ask who had what entree selection. Check with your venue, but the coded place cards may not be necessary.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We're having this same conundrum.  Our venue insists on the coded cards, but we're now talking about a lot of information on the RSVP card and a lot of extra printing.  More complicated RSVP cards werew really not what I was going for, but that doesn't seem possible.

I thought about doing it this way:

The favor of your reply is requested by Month Day, Year

"X seats have been reserved in your honor"
"X will be attending" (guests fill in)

Please add initials next to each guest's entree choice:
