Anyone else staying in tonight?

  • Aryn, that's dangerous territory he's moving into if he just thinks you're going to pay for everything all the time.
  • Yeah, he's got all of them on our netflix queue.  I kept bumping stuff to the top, but I figured I had to let them come eventually.

  • I really haven't been here.

I have a job.  I work 6 days a week.  8-3 4 days a week and 8-12 2 days a week.  I'm so busy I have no internet play time.   Good things about the job are that I'm so close I don't even have to cross a street to get to work (I live on a city block).  So I get to go home to take Chef D out and have lunch.  Somedays I can even take Chef D to work.  I can wear pretty much anything I want.  Most days I'm in jeans and a nicer top.

Ditto this.  As much as it sucks that he's not seeing a doctor, I'm glad you're not paying.  He could have asked his parents.  He chose not to.  Sucks for him.

  • And here come ther storms they've been predicting we'll get all day, so I won't be surprised if I end up losing power.  In fact it flickered while I was typing this message.
  • Congrats on the job, Lynda!  What are you doing?

  • I'm here, I never go out.  I swear, 4 years ago I would have never pictured this to be my life now, but I'm totally cool with it.

Aryn, seriously I try not to make judgments on people's FI/H, but yours sounds like a douche who is taking advantage of the situation.  I'm glad you put your foot down with the job thing, and with his ankle now.  I would be really close to making major decisions if I were in your shoes right now.

  • Good luck tomorrow, J!

Lynda, congrats on the new job.  That sounds close to perfect :)

  • I'm glad the job is working out for you Lynda.
  • Hey there. H is stuck at work, so it's just me and the pups right now.

Petal there's a whole lot going on in your sig pic and I'm not quite sure I understand it all. Is your FI in a cage? What's going on over there?

JK i'm sooooo jealous you're doing that run. I wanted to do the one in MD last October, but I never signed up for it. I'm actually glad I didn't because it was the innaugural run and it was apparently horrendously planned. Some people didn't even get to run traffic backed up so bad.

  • Oh and J that run looks so awesome!  I would totally do that if it was around here.

Strlz we had tornado warnings all day.  I got some rain but the severe thunderstorms and tornados skipped my area.

  • Thanks guys, we're not at all ready, so we aren't even kidding ourselves that we might "survive" (we won't), but we just want to do all the obstacles and cross the finish line.  We have Warrior Dash in a month, so we want to to be in better shape to do better for that.

  • The storms just passed us a little bit ago.

I loved The Help. Both the book and the movie.

The dogs have fleas and it's driving me crazy. We have to super clean the carpet in the entire apartment. They've had flea baths and have their flea medicin on them, but they're coming from somewhere.

Aryn I will ditto DNB. I think about you and your situation every time I see you post.

  • Hi!  I need to go figure out what I'm making for dinner.  I'm supposed to be taking the dog for a walk, but I'm hungry now.

Aryn - I think that's a good stance to take on things.
  • Hey MK! It's more like fence material that looks like a cage. I made a joke about it being a cage and next thing the photographer had FI in it and found me a stick. Just random.

It rained all day today from when I left for work at 6:30 till about 4:00. Even then it has still been sprinkling on and off.

  • The lady I babysit for went into labor! YAY! New baby!
  •  I plan to start the Couch to 5K program this summer, but want to build up my stamina a little before I get started.  Since I don't have to be at work until 11 for the foreseeable future I'm going to start going in early a few times a week and walk around campus before I actually have to be at the office.
  • H said we got 2 inches today, Petal.

  • MK, do your neighbors have pets? It's possible they're coming from a neighboring apartment.

Beachy, I am definitely seriously considering leaving. Mainly, I need a job to do so.

J, is the Warrior Dash the same as the Spartan Race? Or are those completely different?
  • I love new babies.  I had lunch with a friend and her 2.5 week old last Friday.  He's too cute.
  • Couch to 5K is awesome sauce.

I work for a small timeshare place.  They have 2 locations here in NOLA.  One has 19 units the other 12.   They do EVERYTHING by hand.  One lady says "DO NOT EMAIL ME - I WILL NOT READ IT".  She's in her 60's, been there for 17 years, doesn't like change, feels threatened by younger people, blah, blah.

The owner wants to become more electronic. His son is trying to make changes, but everything he touches fails.   Which is one reason the no-email lady is having problems.

The bookkeeper is strange and not completely bright.  I've caught him sleeping a few times last week.   All the sudden I start hearing snoring.  It's pretty funny. He rarely takes messages, which means things are not getting done.   I think he feels threatened also, as I've been give certain access that he also as, but not the  no-email lady.

It's be interesting.  I've already starting automating processes that actually work, so I'm starting to win the no-email lady after only working a few weeks.   She actually lets me touch her reservation book, which is something guys who have been working there for 2 years can't say - LOL.

I don't think the owner is going to get rid of anyone (been there so long, bookkeeper has a son with downs, no-email lady just lost her husband, 3 year old grandson has cancer, etc, etc.) but  there to make sure it all runs smother than it does now.

  • I have never heard of Spartan Race, Aryn.  Warrior Dash is a 5k with obstacles and mud and stuff.  And Viking helmets.

  • Hi ladies! I'm going to FI's in a bit, but I'm here for now.

Aryn, I'm glad you aren't going to pay for his ankle. Maybe this will show him he needs to man up and get a real job so that he can pay for things like this when they arise. And yay for the new baby! Is this C's family or S's family? And is it a boy or a girl? How far apart in age are they? How many more questions can I ask?

  • Yeah we're pretty positive it's from other apartments. It just sucks. We have 4 dogs and I have NEVER had a dog get fleas before. Ever. It's obnoxious.

I hope you find a way out of your situation quick.

  • Lynda - it already sounds like you're enjoying it more than you liked your last job.  I hope it continues to work out well for you.
  • Sorry Aryn, I'm not trying to tell you what to do.  But I would be beyond pissed in your situation.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Ugh - MK - that sucks about the fleas.  You have all 4 dogs with you now?  I missed that...
