When I was in Florida, I was bitten on the toe by something. No idea what. I'm still alive, so it wasn't poisonous, but I have a scar from it, so it was SOMETHING.
Oh, and I will never go to Australia. Apparently 4 out of 5 things over there can kill you. (OK, that might be an exaggeration, but there is some deadly stuff there!)
Les - they start out pretty small and harmless, but I guess the more they eat, the huger they get. I once gave up a staircase because a banana spider took up residence on it. Fuuucking beyotch spider.
AATB - I know right? Mehgan doesn't do caves. Nuh-uh, no way, keep me away. Open caves like the one above, or even worse, the really teeny tiny ones that you have to wedge yourself through. There's no air. Or light. Ok, now I have goosebumps.

I have a weird fear of mice. I dated someone who had a snake for a pet and we went to petco for a mouse. The mouse chewed through the cardboard container and the bag and was crawling around by my feet. I lost my shiiit.
See I liked banana spiders. They stay in their giant webs, outdoors, right where you can see them. They're not going to sneak up you in your own home. We had one in the backyard I named Brunhilda. The gigantic tarantula looking thing that lived in my old bosses garage (where she stored everything for her shop) was a whole different story.
I'm really claustrophobic so caves are a no go and the thought of cave or wreck diving is possibly my worst nightmare.

I will NEVER live in Florida for this exact reason. I am terrified of the idea of a bull sharks in a canal or some such where people are swimming. That and alligators come out of golf course ponds and just eat people and pets down there!
Caves. FML. I'd rather die by firing squad than go into a cave. Small spaces like that make me panicky.
The clown from IT is the only one that really unnerves me. H knows I don't like it and one night as I was drifting off to sleep, he rolls over and whispers, "they all float down here." I didn't sleep that night and was afraid of little boys in rain slickers for months.
OH I just thought of another one. I'm half-way terrified of heights. I can do amusement park rides - like most of them - I can do all the rollercoasters, and the thing that shoots you all the way up. I can tolerate a Ferris Wheel, but it's almost a bit much to take - I think it's because with the other rides, it's all over too fast, but with Ferris Wheels it moves so slow and stops a lot. Ugh.
Anyway when we were hiking in the Grand Canyon my great uncle would take our group and he'd be perched on the edge of these cliffs that went all the fuuuucking way down to the bottom of the canyon, and he'd be pointing out at this and that and telling stuff. WTF, GUY? You can see that stuff just as well from this perfectly fine area over here that is NOWHERE NEAR THE EDGE OF A DAMN CANYON. I mean, you lose your footing? You WILL die. Amen.

I do this to H and my mom. Sometimes on accident, mostly on purpose. I'm quiet and sneaky, they never know I'm coming.
I am weird about heights. I am fine in planes, I'd like to go skydiving, and I enjoy cliffs. But ladders used to freak me out. I also am a bit iffy on foot bridges, at least those you can see through. I got a bit weirded out at the top of one of the monuments at Gettysburg last weekend where it's totally secure. I think that may have been a reaction to the tiny,. twisty staircase though.
Haha see AATB, heights don't really bother me. At most, I'm in awe of the majesty of heights, but that's pretty much it. I think it's because I grew up around mountains or something, so I've always wanted to go higher and higher and higher. One of my favorite excursions was on the Stairway To Heaven/Haiku Ladder trail on Oahu. Nearly 4,000 steps of hip-width stairs held together by metal C-clamps, 2,120 ft up.
I find it kind of odd that I love heights, but hate depths. Sky-diving, mountain-climbing, Grand Canyon I can do. Caves, crevasses, and the Mariana Trench - NO WAY.

Yeah, heights and I are not friends. Mostly because I ALWAYS get those "worst case" pictures in my head. So really, it's the falling that's scary. I even ask for lower rooms in hotels. My choice of hotel in New York was solely because there were only four floors.
Banana spiders don't bother me, I guess because I grew up surrounded by them.
I think I could do caves, tight spaces and all. I actually prefer tight spaces (wide open ones freak me the hell out, so whatever the opposite of claustrophobic is, that's me). BUT - I could never do underwater cave explorations. There's a relatively new movie by James Cameron about that called Sanctum that about made my hyperventilate just because I felt like I was trapped underwater.

Living in ND where it is so flat you could watch your dog run away for like three days, lol - tall things are kinda freaky. The first time I saw mountains in person I remember kind of feeling a sense of dread over how big they are. I mean, they are mountains. They are not going to fall over on you or explode (unless they're actually a volcano... lol... ANYWAY) so there is no reason to really be afraid of mountains. I am not AFRAID of mountains, per se, but they are intidimidating for sure.
AATB- someone has a sig of them on the edge of a cliff and that makes even me a bit nervous and I'm not afraid of heights at all. That's just too close for comfort, but I bet it was an awesome experience in person.
