  • J - the smell of chlorine does bring back some good memories, but I still prefer salt water pools. Suncreen has a more powerful effect for me though.

    Yup.

And also?  Whenever I smell it, the first thing that pops into my head is walking past the ventilation outputs at the Y to go to swimming lessons when I was about 6 years old.  I can't not feel all warm and fuzzy about that.

Eags, were you ever a competitive swimmer?  Should I know this?  Or do you just really love pools and chlorine?

<div>Use a tablespoon or two of baking soda in 8 oz of warm water. Massage it into your scalp, then comb it through your wet hair. Let it sit for about five minutes, then rinse (either with plain water or with 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar dissolved in warm water). Condition.</div><div>

  • I like the smell of chlorine too. And a certain kind of lysol, although I don't know what kind it was, I just know they used it in the bathrooms of my church when I was little.

Nope, bleach aggravates my asthma more than chlorine.  Y'all go ahead and figure out how that one works.  I mean, I like the smell, just not the effects ofi t!

My ex was pretty convinced that Jaws was going to come get him... at the Jersey shore. Jelly fish stings and crabs biting your feet are way more likely. I've never been stung by a jelly fish, knock on wood.

You have to have a pool boy too though.  Because they're a biiiitch to take care of.  I think part of the interview should require shirtlessness so you can make sure he's acceptable eye candy.

My mom never let me watch the part in Jaws near the end where he chomps down on the captain or whoever about 4 times (legs, thighs, stomach, etc). I finally watched it for the first time a few years back, and I remember silently thanking my mom in my head for shielding me for so long.

  • My parent's pool is saltwater.  It is so much easier and cheaper to maintain and doesn't smell all chemically.

  • I want a pool.

We thought about getting one of those ugly-ass blue pools until we move to a bigger house with a bigger yard. I'm not sure if either of us could put up with the ugly factor, though I would like to sit in it, read, and drink while H maintains the garden.
