Snowe Pole

It has been snowing here every day. I am sick of it. And it's only January. So those who deal with snow, what are your feelings?

Re: Snowe Pole

  • It's snowing to beat the band here again today. Apparently the roads suck, too. Awesome.

  • We're looking at another 6-8 inches here over the next couple days apparently.  Awesome.  The Stratus doesn't like the snow.
  • No snow for me but it was 28 this morning with a windchill of 17 and I thought I might keel over and die. So clearly snow would be too much for me to handle.

  • Suck it, Vally.
  • J- Your sig should include Beer instead of Beets.

  • we're supposed to get some snow starting mid morning tomorrow, which makes for a lovely drive home during rush hour.  I have a stick shift, my car handles pretty well........it's the other drivers that scare the p*ss out of me, or just p*ss me off.

Please tell me you know where my sig quote is from, yes?

I don't like beets or beer (much).  How about wine?  Or...tequila?

  • I generally like snow - its pretty, its fun to play with the dog in. I just dont like slush and poor driving conditions so as long as I dont have to go out during or directly after I dont particularly care.
  • There's a threat of an impending snow storm.  I only hope it gets here soon, so I won't have to go to work tomorrow or the next day.
  • I live in South Louisiana, so snow days are few and far between. Therefore, I love snow because I've seen it exactly 4 times in my whole life. I would probably get reallyfucking sick of it though if I lived somewhere where it snowed all the time.

  • We've had snow every day for a couple of weeks now.  I love sitting inside, curled up by a fire watching it come down.  It's so pretty.  However, once it's on the ground, or I have to go out in it, my love for snow ends.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

Is this your first winter here, Capri? If so, be sure you stock up on milk and bread, and DON'T go out if you don't have to. The idiots around here can barely drive on I-75-I-85 when it rains; they sure as Hell can't drive in the snow.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an early release from school tomorrow. Since I am in Cherokee County (north of the city), we might be in luck.
  • I love snow more before Christmas, then afterwards I get sick of it pretty quickly. We haven't really had anything else aside from a few flurries after that big ass storm we got a few weeks back.

  • I love it, but that's easy for me to say since it's 72 degrees out where I am.

When I lived in a cold climate, I'd get sick of it by February. But I do love skiiing. And wearing sweaters.

When ISN'T there a bunch of wind there?  Ugh, I hope it doesn't get too bad.  And I'm glad you know ;)

Vally, you are correct.  Specifically, my favorite scene from The Office EVAR.

Jim (impersonating Dwight):  Question.  What type of bear is best?
Dwight:  Well that's a ridiculous question--
    Jim:  False.  Black bear.
Dwight:  That's debatable.  See there are basically two schools of thought--
    Jim:  Fact.  Bears eat beets.
    Dwight:  What??  That's ridic--
    Jim.  Bears.  Beets.  Battlestar Galactica.
Dwight:  WHAT IS THIS?!  You know Jim, identy theft is no joke.  Thousands of people--
    Jim:  MICHAEL!!!
    Dwight:  Oh...that's funny!  ....MICHAEL!!!!
  • I'm good with snow as long as I can watch it from inside or just play in it (until it gets down my pants and then it's game over).  When I have to actually get stuff done, like to go to work, it sucks a fat one.

I've done a lot of playing in the snow in my day, and I can't say I remember EVER getting snow down my pants, unless it was purposely put there.

We are supposed to get another storm tonight/tomorrow. Most of it has been an inch at a time so it's bearable but I think they are calling for more accumulation with this storm coming.  My dept is essential staff, so even if we get a foot of snow, we are expected to be here. I have more than once walked to work in a foot of snow (because I can, and everyone knows I often walk/bike to work) and it stinks. It is a good leg & butt workout though. And it seems that anytime we DO get a blizzard, it's during the workweek, and not on the weekend when I can just stay home, cook and watch movies.

FI & I had plans to go see his family this weekend (about 2 hours east of us, and I just don't think it's going to happen with the forecast.

It's true.  It might be a little off because I did it all from memory.  That's how much I love that scene.  Kyle and I found the episode to DVR several weeks ago, and it's still there...hanging out on the DVR, and occasionally we will start it just to watch that scene.  Ahhh.  It makes my stress go away.
  • I am kind of loving snow lately, because my boss is paranoid about all things snow-driving and cold related.

She canceled a major event for this coming Friday just because it's going to be high of 2 degrees.  We're supposed to get 4 inches of snow today and she told me I should leave work early.  Yes, please!  Oh, and she doesn't come in if it's remotely snowy or icy.

  • Boo snow!  We've got a storm coming in right this minute (I can see it out my window) but it's supposed to be minor.  Although I think the forecast high tomorrow is like 15. :(

  • To add to the 14 inches and 6 inches we've already gotten (which of course are packed down now), we're expecting 5-8, potentially 6-9 between now and tomorrow.  Just under blizzard conditions.

Our low Friday will be -16. Oh well. It makes housebreaking a puppy so much more enjoyable. At least he'll go out in the snow. He sticks his face in it every.single.time.
