I also don't like names that sound 'made up.' A guy at work had twins - boy & a girl. Boy is Andon. Which sounds normal enough. The girl is named Tyme. Ick. Seriously, I hate that name. Can you imagine what shiit she's going to take? We've got too much Tyme on our hands. Better late than no Tyme. Ick.

Sounds like they should have kids named Parsley, Sage and Rosemary too. LOL.

  • You know it probably is related to TV in some way (the popularity of Olivia), there are a ton of girls about my age named Alexis likely after that one soap opera character! At least that's what my parents always thought!
In Response to Re: People Names : My sister's name is Analiese (Ah Na EES) but she goes by Annie. I like it too.

Posted by SarahPLiz
I quite adore the name Analeise... it's a mixture of some of the names I love. I too love 'classical' names

Names we like:

Adelaide (this WILL be our girl's name, if we have one). Middle names: Rose (my grandmother), Elise (my sister) or Ivy (Nick's grandmother). We lean towards Adelaide Rose.

Boys names are much more difficult! I love Xavier but Nick can't stand it. We both like Oscar, but we can't agree on spelling- I like the traditional German spelling, Oskar, and Nick prefers the english spelling... Oscar is a fairly common name, though, which puts me off a little. We also both like Emmett and Fox (although I had a love of the x-files when I was younger so I am put off using Fox in case anyone thinks that I'm naming my child after a TV character from the 90's!).

I just asked H about Winston and oh my gosh, he actually likes a name that I like! So that will get added to the list of potentials. The middle name for said boy child will be Johann (nick's grandfather). Or Voltron, if I get really high whilst giving birth, hahaha.
