I have a confession. I submitted a VERY NICE and respectful Call out early yesterday morning and the stupid call out runner didn't post it. F*ck you call out girl!
I'm around for a bit, trying to get ready to go into town again today. H will be gone most of the night for a work party. Apparently, they all leave work at 3, pile into a big van, and do a drinking scavenger hunt, and when they get to the end of the hunt, it's a big drinking place. Swedes like scavenger hunts and drinking. Should be interesting.
Good Morning! Soooooooo glad today is Friday! Whoo for the weekend.
Got some errands to do after work today and hopefully finish the laundry as well. H birthday is Saturday, so we are going to go out to dinner somewhere nice. He says he doesnt want anything, but I feel bad not getting him anything. I guess I need to start thinking fast...
Missy - T always says he doesn't want anything and it makes gift giving so hard becuase you know they really do, they just don't want it to be a hassle. How about a nice polo and cologne? That'd be a last minute go to for T if I was in your situation.

Wow, Amoro. That makes me want to hurl just looking at the x-ray films. Found out yesterday that in all likelihood my older daughter has a learning disability, but because of her grades and achievement, nothing will be done.
I've been at work since 6, but I get to leave at 10 so it's not all bad. I should have today off but the boss called me in, and since I want a raise I'm willing to be flexible with my schedule.

Stacks -- you gotta pile on the drama if you what that posted.
I'm in an insanely good mood today. Got the invites done last night (all but four where I'm missing addresses, hopefully I'll get those today), and my dad took FI and I out for dinner last night, which was impromptu and nice. Tonight is Dad's birthday, so I'm heading over there after work for dinner. And it's beautiful out in CT today!
Amoro - that scavenger hunt thing sounds fun! I always liked those, my mom would set them up for my birthday gifts sometimes The nail thing? Not so much.
Sara - what kind of learning disability? How did they figure it out if she's not struggling in school?
LTB - have fun tomorrow, it's supposed to be a beautiful day!!!
Morning ladies I woke up at 4am (again) and couldn't go back to sleep so I'm supa tired. But at least it's Friday, right?
Amoro- I'm a little jealous of your H's work party/scavenger hunt/drinking evening. That sounds really fun!
A very happy birthday to Missy's H and babestate's dad!
As for me, I'm looking forward to a fairly quiet weekend once today is over. Oh, remember how I crashed my car the other day? Yeah, it's going to cost $500 to fix. And when I got home last night there was a speeding ticket in the mail for $125. BUT, at least it was Mr Panda driving my car when we got the ticket, so he couldn't be mad at me. Heh. When it rains it pours, what can I say?
Aww, Manda, that sucks. I'm sorry about the car. Accidents completely blow.
But you're right, at least you weren't the one who got the ticket. I hate speeding tickets. FI never gets them...and I've gotten like three since we met (but none in the last year and a half, knock on wood).
Amoro and TR, I strongly suspect some sort of learning disability in math, based on the 40 point differential in her CogAT (cognitive abilities test) scores between her verbal and quantitative portions. But because she scored in the "average" range in ability, and because she's always made A's and B's in math, they won't even test her further to find out what, if anything, the specific learning disability is. As a mom, it is incredibly frustrating that she might not be working up to her potential, and because LD and sp. ed. is NOT my area of expertise, I may not be able to help her as much as she needs.
Morning - the dog peed in the house last night, a little this morning, and then a BIG one while I was in the shower. I feel that I'm to blame for the ones this morning. I didn't take her out like FI usually does (he is out of town), since she was going to day care. Back fired on me!

I worked in SPED at a local school district for three years processing paperwork, so maybe this will help. In terms of a specific learning disability, two of the seven areas are related to math: math reasoning and math calculation. In our district there was an intervention team (it has a different name in every district) that monitored students for a time and kept data and used intervention strategies to help the student improve before having the student tested by the school psychologist. There are some students who remain in the intervention team process for years, but you as a parent should be able to request that the intervention team at least evaluate her. School district policies can be a bunch of BS for sure.
In the mean time, I would try to see if you can figure out which area she is having difficulties with and see if you can find some strategies you can use at home to help her improve. Perhaps you can call the resource teacher at her school at ask for some ideas.

Not yet. I want to go every year, but every year without fail, it rains. And the grounds get muddy and it's freezing. Hopefully this year will be different because at this point I'm really mad that I haven't gone yet.

<div>Well we're thinking of going to the Richmond one this year if you'd be interested in meeting up. Normally we go to the one in NoVA, but we'll be out of town. Then we were going to go to the one in Williamsburg, but we have a reception on Saturday and a baby shower on Sunday. So that leaves Richmond. And it had better NOT rain because I bought Mr. Panda a kilt and he's gonna wear it, dammit.</div>
Good morning everyone. I am SO tired today. I am happy it's Friday, but then I have a going away party after work, followed by meeting some of my girl friends out for a girls night. The good news is the weather here has been fantastic.

That would be awesome. I look forward to it every year and then I get disappointed when I see the weather. I'll be praying for sunny skies this year!
I'm soooo happy it's Friday. I was bummed this morning because I had to cut my swim workout 200m short because my knee was bothering me. It was my good knee though, so I didn't want to risk injuring it and have two bum knees.
We're off to MD tomorrow for an open house B-Day party for one of dad's partners. My dad's B-day was on Tuesday, so I've got a gift for him as well. Not too much else. There are rumblings at work that there's going to be a big shift in management announced next week, can't wait for that!

ARGH! I hope she doesn't continue doing this.
Time to focus on work.
Today is another boss-free workday and I have no plans for the weekend. I consider this a good thing.
