Hi everyone.
I'm really only coming on here to vent and maybe find someone who has been in a similar situation and how it worked out for them. I've been engaged since August 29,2010. We were originally planning a summer 2011 wedding, but we've had many issues come up along the way. First it was money problems (for my FILs, my parents and myself), then it was the holidays, with a few family and close friend deaths. Needless to say, it's been pretty difficult to start wedding planning. Things have been calm for a couple months now, and we still don't have a wedding date. Since our parents are the ones paying for the reception hall (which will ultimately determine our wedding date) we can't exactly say, "What is wrong with you?! Can you hurry up and spend thousands of dollars on me, please?!" When it comes to matters dealing with other people's money, I'm very uncomfortable suggesting what they should do with it, even it were my parents.
Is there a way I can subtly suggest that we should get a move on? I really don't want to come out and say it and risk both parties feeling uncomfortable. I just really want to get married!
