My boss' just announced that our office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and possibly Wednesday during the G-20!! I'm so excited, 4 maybe 5 days off!!

I sincerely hope that Pitt follows Duquesne and CCAC and cancels classes. It's going to be a mess. I got stuck in that traffic yesterday trying to get downtwon and that wasn't nearly as bad as it's going to be next month. I don't want to be anywhere near downtown when all this is happening. Ugh.

oh! I'm so jealousE!!! A ton of people in my company get it off- but not me... I work with foreign companies. boo. And I work downtown- I have no idea how thats going to happen

That's great! I really think that any non-essential workplaces should be mandatory closed on at least Thurs and Fri. The city is going to be crazy as it is.I'm in the South Side, but I'm debating taking off at least Friday, and maybe both. I think it's going to affect not only downtown, but all surrounding Pittsburgh suburbs, since the country's representatives will be spread out in hotels in surrounding areas.

I'm in PPG Place. My company is letting us work from home those two days, thank goodness! My commute on a normal day is an hour each way. It's going to be a MESS downtown!

I was just dreading my drive on the parkway west, when I realized we won't be living in our house anymore! I hope we get the option of working from home, or get the days off.

Unfortunatly, there is no way we'll be closed. Good thing is, I live in South Side so I can walk or bike. Not looking forward to it though, the traffic and madness and crowds.

The first day of the summit is the day we're leaving for our HM. I'm rather scared how bad the airport security is going to be - especially since we're flying internationally into Paris first!

Jenn (heyits) - the airport may not actually be bad. I'd probably be more worried about it if you were leaving on that Wednesday. By Thursday I'd assume pretty much everyone will already have arrived. But still leave extra early for the airport just in case!

That's a good point, Erica! Hmmm.. maybe it won't be as bad as I anticpate! But definitely still leaving lots and lots of travel time. On a good day, it takes us about an hour and a half to the get to the airport. These are the times I hate living in the boonies.
