Getting in Shape

Done with the scale for awhile :-P

I'm not sure why I'm having issues with not being able to get past my plateau (even 1 lb is a huge challenge) but I'm trying to clean up my diet more and I've started working with a trainer again to get back into resistance training.  But I'm thinking I should just stay off the scale for awhile since it is just depressing :(  I think I'm just going to make some diet/exercise goals for the week and stick to them.Going to try and stay off the scale till next Friday.  I have been one of those who weigh every day, and I'm thinking it would be healthier to try and just do weekly or so.Anyone have the same struggle with knowing how often to weigh?

  • I go through periods where I weigh myself everyday,or at the very least every other, and then I get discouraged when I gain even 0.1 lbs. At work we weigh our kids every day (I'm a nurse), so for some reason that justifies me weighing myself everyday too :).  Most dieting books recommend weighing once a week but that is wayyy too long for me to go between weigh-ins :)

  • i don't like weighing, mainly because it fluctuates with a single drink of water.that said, i'm a compulsive morning-in-the-mirror-checker.  the qualitative is more reinforcing i think.  :D

  • It's kind of embarrassing, but I take a picture of myself in the same bathing suit every couple of weeks to see my progress. Weight is just a number, and how I look means more!
