Yep, I'd be calling the company, speaking to management and threatening to leave the company.I brought my ering to a local jeweller to clean it because I had gotten a speck of black dirt on it. I was like, "Hi! Just wondering if you could clean my ring for me, there's a piece of dirt on it." She responds, "Oh honey, it's probably not dirt, your diamond probably has a blemish." Um, yeah no biitch it's dirt. Believe me. (is what I wanted to say). BUt instead I just kept my mouth shut, and said politely, "No, I don't think so. I've had the ring 6 months and this just showed up."

This post makes me wonder what letter mine is. The first time I saw it was when my husband proposed- I didn't help pick it out or anything. Is this something I can look at in my paperwork? I'm curious now.

georgia - I didn't help pick mine out, so I don't know exactly either. but I'm guessing it should be somewhere in the contract from the store.

It should be in the paperwork if it's a certified diamond. Sometimes the one's from jewelry retailers are not certified or you have to pay extra for a certified diamond.

I agree with PP stating more assholes need to be called out for being rude. I think we live in a world where it is unacceptable to make a scene and we are afraid to say "Awww hell no you didn't" and we should do it more often. I don't think you did anything wrong. She should not be making comments on people's insured items. Unless she were to say "it sounds beautiful"

I'm WAY late, but yeah. That was a bit uncalled for! I'm glad you called her out on it. I'd have told her my grandmother was dying of cancer so I hocked my D colored 4ct. diamond to save her, and she'll be at my wedding, thankfully. And then thanked her for judging your G. B!tch! I haven't a clue about my ring. I know it's conflict-free and pretty. That's about it. FI took my daughter to help pick it out though, and she's a little diamond certifier in her mind now. She can tell you everything about my stone. LOL

She's awesome. Last night she was helping a friend with math homework and we were talking about how when I was her age (god, sound like a geezer much?) I'd had a mortgage for almost two years. Her friend said, "Damn. How'd you do all that?" and Daughter piped up with "She's badass, that's how!" I love my kid(s).
