AprilWed2010: it is never silly to feel strong about your identity. dont undermine your feelings. they are just as (ahem... more IMO) valid than your FI's. you do what is right for you.

1) Are you changing/did you change your name? nope, keeping mine 2) Either way, Why? I have never really wanted to change mine and now as the wedding gets closer I am sure I don't want to. My friends, family and FI all call me by my last name. I have an attachment to it. I 3) Did you ever feel sad about it? I would feel sad if I was changing it but since I am not, its fine. :-) 4) Anything else you'd like to share? Our kids will have FI last name ( I don't like hypenated names) and I will probably go by it socially sometimes but I don't plan to legally or professionally change it. Thanks a lot for posting this too! For a long time I thought I was the only one who wasn't changing her name on here, I feel better seeing there are a few others!! :-)

I made the decision when I was younger that unless the guy I was going to marry had an awesome last name there was no way I'd consider it. I've always been very open about it, so it's never been an issue.
