Fay Carraher is in Billerica.  I have my 3rd fitting on the 25th with her.  She works out of her home.  She's soooooo sweet and does an amazing job!  A lot of knotties recommended her.  Let me know if you want her contact info!

She's awesome!  Her prices are really reasonable (I think all of my alterations will end up being less than $150, including pressing!), and she really knows what she's doing.  I think she showed me like 6 different bustle options before I decided what I wanted.  You'll love her!  :)

LOVE her. She's only a few minutes off rte 3 and like 15 minutes away from Lowell on 3A.

Edit: Fay didn't alter my wedding dress (haven't found THE ONE yet...), but I did talk to her about scheduling a fitting once I buy "her". She just told me to give her a call and that we'd set up a time. If you've already found and ordered your dress, then you could definitely schedule a fitting.

My dress came in like a year ago :)  SO I had it well before I scheduled my first fitting.  BUT if you already found it, you can certainly schedule a fitting in advance--she will only take up to a certain number of brides for the same weekend, just so if something happens & last minute alterations need to be made, she knows she'll have the time.

The way I did it was my 1st fitting ~2.5 months before, my 2nd fitting ~1.5 months before, my 3rd fitting will be ~2.5 weeks before, and then I'll go to pick it up a few days before the wedding.

    GL!  :)
