What is one thing that somebody in your life (not FI) has/did/can afford that makes you genuinely happy for him/her?
FMIL... Her and FFIL were dirt broke when they first started out together, but with love, hard work, and making good financial decisions, they raised 3 very nice men (one just happens to be the most amazing to ever live), built their dream house from the ground up, and prepare for a happy retirement in a couple years. She even put herself through school all over again after her boys went off to college/graduated. She has had all of her dreams come true, and she deserves it
What is a goal that you are working towards?
Hm. I'm really trying to figure out a game plan to get back to school, while still being able to pay my bills.
I am really proud of myself for being active, going to bootcamp 5 mornings a week at 5:30am, training for triathlons, riding my bike forever, even walking with FI some evenings. I am even more proud that I keep doing it even when I don't see outwardly visible results. It makes me feel good that I live that active life, and all that excercise makes me a more positive person in general (all those endorphins).

My friend Jody that was on Amazing Race also made it to ITU World Triathlon Championships in Budapest this summer, in the 70-74 age group. I am so proud to call her a friend, and I am genuinely happy that she has had such a phenomenal year. She works so hard at what she does, and she deserves every accolade she gets.

I am still working towards my goal of becoming a Certified Fraud Examiner. Its been a year since I took the prep course, and I haven't studied much in the past 6 months. I am qualified to take the test, though, so maybe I can get it done before the wedding.
I'm really happy for my best friend who just got accepted into a very elite graduate program. She was 1 of 12 to get into her desired program and now is on track to eventually work for the FBI. So cool, and so happy for her.
It sounds lame, but I'm working towards finding a job. we moved from one part of the country where the economy wasn't that great to one where it's even worse for people looking for work, and now we just foud out we may be moving to Chicago in a few months, which is scary. I really want to find a job so that after the wedding I can start saving to back to to school for a masters degree in a field different than my undergrad so that I can do what I think will be a dream job, even though no one else seems to think it's the right thing to do.
My 31 pounds down. TAKE THAT BODY FAT.

Writer I freelance locally. But I also worked retail and it was really holding me back. I started doing content writing online so I can keep the lights on AND keep my sanity. Locally I write news and features. But I really like to write essay type stories. My absolute dream is to be featured on NPR's This American Life and eventually have a book published. It's lofty, but I have to pursue it. Sometimes you have to do things for yourself.
I took a leap of faith in J (then BF) and moved halfway across the country to establish a relationship with him. It took me north of the Mason-Dixon, and further west than I had ever lived before. I've never been this far from so much of my family (but I'm closer to my parents, even though they are still 12 hours away). This was a decision I made not on a whim, but using adult logic and reasoning.

My father has spent 40 years with the same organization, and made it 1 step below his ultimate career goal. He is well respected throughout the country in his business, and has truly enjoyed his career. He retires this fall, but if it were up to him, I think he'd keep on another 10 years.

Strengthening and toning my body. Cycling more with John and trying the ATV one more time.

My mom got lasic eye surgery last summer. She's the type who never buys anything for herself and always puts others first so I was really glad to see her do this for herself. She saved up her own money until she paid in cash, just a really good example and I'm happy for her.
