  • oh yeah, and I suppose at somepoint I could do a wedding scrapbook. so darn spendy.

  • This is my most recent project.  I think it turned out well.

Next up in my queue are Mini Christmas Stockings to make into an advent calendar.

  • I am going to use stills from the photobooth photos, so they have more of our friends and family, and do THIS in my upstairs hallway.

I am painting the trim white (almost done) and the walls gray in a guest bedroom.

Just finished THIS project- I love it!

There is more, but those are the first ones that will get done, I think.
  • I just tie-dyed a bunch of stuff.  I've been wanting to make more wreaths lately.  I have no clue why.  My next project needs to be refinishing an old dresser so that I have one place to store all of my craft crap.  I just can't decide how I want to do it.

My mom wants me to take her to the candle supply shop I went to and I'm probably going to buy another 5lb bag of wax and some more little mason jars to finish my candles, probably ending up with another 50 or so. I want to give some as xmas gifts. I also need to buy the supplies for an art project I've been planning out but I'm unwilling to talk about cause I don't want anyone stealing my idea.
  • Adamar, I'm glad you said that about the dresser.  We have an old dresser with nothing in it right now.  Seeing as how my craft crap is spread out in bins throughout the garage and in the living room, I think that dresser might be a great place to organize it all.

    Lets see..  projects..

I don't have anything big or even concrete planned at the moment but I do have a few ideas I'm filtering through:

*I'd like to make a fun but still classic looking advent calendar

*I want to make a hanging birthdays sign like this http://pinterest.com/pin/104849497544730562/

*Cross stitc h some wall decor

*Do a watercolor or print that will work in the living room

*Make a quilt out of my niece's old(too small) favorite t-shirts

*Rearrange the kitchen (and likely build organizational items into cupboards)

EDIT:  Oh yeah, and make up a photobook after our next vacation

[QUOTE]Les, that's absurd. I promise not to throw away any quilts you send my way :) Mehg, we have our pics all over (well, you've seen the house, it's a shrine to us and Sir Whisky, ha). Our nice pics are on top of the piano with my books and then some others are on the table by the front door. We don't have many other pictures except on the computer, but we do have some random ones on the fridge.

    Ahh yes, I remember that.

H is such a brat about mushy stuff like this. For instance, my sister got us a nice brushed silver 8" x 10" frame, so I put our marriage certificate in it. When I went to hang it up, he groaned like it embarassed him or something. I'm like "Yo, I live here too, homey, so deal with it!". If he wants to hang up his various nautical knicknacks (one of which was made for him by an exGF, by the way) then I should be able to hang up our wedding photos/etc. Grrrr...

  • Kate, I have both of those projects pinned. that is one of my inspirations for my gallery wall for sure!

For our wedding we got quite a bit of stuff with "Our last name" established 2012 so I probably won't get to make that second one.

I wish I was craftier, for real

  • I'm jealous of you all with really fun projects in the works!

Right now pretty much all "projects" are wedding related.  There's a few things I want to do (tissue poms, other types of decorations, "Places We Love" Theme-like things for tables) but I tend to get very overwhelmed or just procrastinate to avoid,  so I will probably only do one or two things.

I want to get back to knitting.  I have never really made anything besides doing the simple stiches repeatedly.  I guess that could count as an almost scarf, lol.  I find knitting relaxing for the most part.  I'd like to get to the point where I can easily create things but I'm never really sure where to start without it being too advanced.
  • Kate-  did you order the kit or make that canvas project yourself?  I love it.

Heh, funny you say this. When I was decorating our house, I found these beautiful framed photos of vegetables H had in his box of stuff from his parents' house. I hung them in the kitchen and he comes home and his eyes nearly bugged out of his head because his exgf had taken the photos and he thought he had tossed them. He was all "It's awkward having those up." I didn't give a crap who took the pictures, they were gorgeous and I loved them. But I took them down to be nice.

  • Awesome projects in here!

Les- you SSon and his wife are douches! And I'm with you, never again!

We were supposed to finish H's office this weekend, but we got lazy, oops! H did bring down his old book collection and started filling the shelves. When we get back from vacation we really need to get started on painting the foyer. Then I will do a picture wall up the stairs.

I have to paint the risers on the staircase and have toyed with a saying every other stair, but I'm not sure H will go for it.

I'm planning to paint the canvas in a wash of colors first, then place and glue the petals, then put some kind of clear coat on top.  I've been scouring DIY sites and blogs for tips and tricks.

ETA:  the petals kept their color pretty well when I dried them.

The bookcase we have here looks hideous because it is well past capacity. There's not much I can do about it right now so I will say my project is imagining my dream library.

I guess I am going to try to make wedding photobooks for our parents since there's a sale on Snapfish right now so that counts.

Yeah, I dunno why he hung onto it, beyond the fact that it's a photo of his old ship that he decommissioned back in 2006. The girl who made it broke his heart pretty bad (cheated on him big-time while he was at school for a few months). If it were me, just the sight of the thing would piss me off. Like, she probably was making it for him out of guilt for sleeping with every guy in Kodiak. Plus, it's friggin' UGLY. It's a water color photocopy on a piece of wood with these sorry little knots tied in pieces of rope around it, then glossed over with about 70 coats of shellack. I could have made him something much, much better.

I wanted to do that one photostrip picture thing, too. I can't decide if I want to do wedding pictures, like they did, or if I want to do some nature pictures from Maui.

<div>Ha ha, I'm like this about tupperware, too.  I want to replace all of it with about 10 glass storage containers, like Pyrex stuff or something.  H doesn't want to get rid of it until it can't be used anymore, so I'm to the point now where if there is the slightest hint of a stain or anything really, I throw it out.  I'm determined to never again have to deal with all those stupid plastic lids that probably don't even have a matching container, flying out of the cabinet and into my face.</div>
