you have a certain point about the stress of waiting! I was one impatient gal last night waiting and waiting and waiting to eat the dinner I cooked with him.

It would be a little more reassuring if the hours were at least predictable, but frequently he really doesn't know when he will be able to leave the hospital. Sigh.

We really want to have a house first and def be done our partying stage. And the big one: Does age matter to you in any of these questions above? As in, do you judge some one by the age they do these things in any way - Yes, even thought FI and I have been dating since the end of our junior year and high school, and felt strongly that we were the ones for each other, we took the marriage thing very slowly. I feel like an appropriate age is when you are supporting yourself without help from your parents, so def after you are done college or whatever education you are getting so you can support yourself. FI and I did get engaged while he was in grad school but we were self supporting.

I agree with most of you that people who say their ready to get married at 18 or 19 are crazy. Some are still in H.S., nevermind college! You haven't had any real life experiences yet! Just because I know I wouldn't have been ready to get married at 21 or 22, I wonder how other people do. But I know everyone is different, so it doesn't matter much.

Ha, speaking of having kids at a young age, we saw FI's 12 year old cousin this weekend and she said she wants to be married at 19 and have three kids by the time she's 21! Yikes...

I was a little put off when I first found out, he was 29 I was 22 when we started dating, but after a couple dates I realized it didn't matter at all! I also don't think I'm too young/old to be getting married, or having babies!

I think its on a case by case basis - I usually only judge extremes like a girl who met someone 15 years older the week she broke off an engagement and she looks like she's 16 and they've been dating for a year. Our friends think that's a little odd. Or a family friend who is engaged to someone younger than his daughter... that's a little odd.

Right now I say I will be at least 30. This could change...but it would be extremely difficult to have a child and have the career I am on the path to have. I am so young so my priorities could change, but I've worked so hard I'd hate to give that up or have a child that would be without parents 12-14 hours each day.

I teach hs so thinking that my seniors could have a child scares the sh1t out of me. And thinking that they might have one a year or 2 after they graduate shocks me. I dunno..I guess if you are financially responsible and mature enough then thats fine. But if you are none of the above then I will possibly judge you.

Some people like to tell me that I am too young to get married once they find out I am engaged, and it doesn't help that I look like I am 16.....but I know that I have always been very mature for my age. I also know that FI and I talked about marriage ALOT before we got engaged. Also, I think as far as children go, you need to have them when its right for you. Some people like to wait until their 30s so they have a very well established career, some like to start sooner, and some even later. It's all about what makes you and your FI/DH happy.

I was married for the first time at age 23, and I think that part of the reason for the divorce was that we were still changing rapidly when we got married. Other than that, I don't really judge someone by their age.
