Canadian Dress Shopping

Since it's dress day!!! Can anyone from Ontario (I'm an hour southwest of Toronto) tell me where they looked for their dress?  I'm looking for a store like the David's Bridal place they have in the states. Somewhere where I there will be lots of selection so I can get an idea of what I want exactly. Thanks!

Re: Canadian Dress Shopping

 • I too can't help about Toronto - but I would page Iris and ask! she got her dress at a killer blow-out sale!
 • Windsor Bridal is huge, mind you when I went I hated my sales lady, very pushy. From my experience, expect them A) to dress you B) don't say you like a dress, because after that one ress, she would not let me put on any more dresses C) they won't let you take pictures unless you buy it D) and their numbers are not exactly right, so you have to buy from them, and they don't let you write down anything (I think they even take out the labels so you dont know). That is in Toronto What I would recommend is maybe buying a bridal book that is for south western ontario/toronto. That is how I learned about Windsor Bridal. Also, just check out bridal shops in your area, I know I found my dress in Kitchener, but I found one in a whole lot of other towns too, including a super small town. Good Luck!

 • Fanny, aka funnybunny on ND (nest) has a list of places she visited in her bio. I'd suggest also Yorkville and the garment district (Spadina area) I bought and designed my dress with Adele Weschler and was very pleased but it's a small store.HTH!
 • Thanks ladies! So I think I'm afraid to go the that Windsor Bridal in Toronto.. I may avoid that one. I think I may just take a trip to Toronto and check out Yorkville and the Spadina area :)After some net searching I found this Sew Stylish Wedding Works that seems promising. It's in Ingersoll.  Hopefully that will work out!
 • Hey! Welcome! Im so excited to meet another Canadian bride :)Work has been crazy, so i wasn't following the boards, but here is what i can offer on dress shopping.I went into Windsor bridal, but wasn't too impressed. I went to the Spadina stores and they had great selection, and decent prices. I think you should also try the Danforth area (Becker's Bridal and The Dress Shop) - they have decent stuff. However - i would highly recommend AmandaLina's in Woodbridge. I bought my dress at their 499 sale! All dresses were 499! I got a Pronovias, real silk gown for that price (a sample, but still!). Here is their website: http://www.amandalinas.com/content/index.php Sign up for their newsletter, and you will know when their next sale is (January i think). I just came back from there, and one of my dress walked out with a gorgeous Maggie dress!YAYAYA - lol can you tell im excited?
