Today I was at lunch with a friend and some of her friends.This guy told me I remind him of the Little Mermaid.I don't get it, I don't sing, I don't have a tail and I don't have red hair.Would you take this as a compliment or insult?

shellydiane - you'd think so, until you realize what people mean by muppet.Like today? We stopped at Walgreens so I could go in and grab a bottle of water for the dog (he won't drink out of the dog park fountain) and when I came back out, I ran across the parking lot to the car and when I got in, Buddy was laughing and said "What's up, Muppet?" He also comments after I dance, as well.I would rather be a mermaid. At least then, I would know how to swim.And my fur wouldn't get all waterlogged.

Ariel rocks, I would take it as a compliment. Maybe he meant that you were a pretty princess but you acted totally down to earth?I must admit...Dh and I were practically giddy when we got to meet "Ariel" at Disney, and I actually squealed "Omg it's Belle". We're big disney princess dorks.

super skinny is a compliment? i think of "super skinny" as being unrealistically skinny, which is precisely the line of thinking that has led to rampant body image issues. not cool, imo.
