Line Item Adjustment

Y'all...I just made a crucial line item adjustment.  I have been so overbearing with the planning that we decided paying a planner to do this now is pointless. So...my planner just let me out of our contract. Thanks goodness. Just saved us $750. Yay!Cicy

Yay!  Are you going to have a Day Of coordinator?  They should be alot cheaper!

Yeah. I am going to start hunting for a DOC instead. Decided to use quality vendors for photog and florals with major experience (which is making the budget bulge but I feel much better about how the day will go) and then have a DOC to pull the day off.  Any RDU knotties with suggestions?

Yayyyy for saving money :-) That was a great idea though because you have some great ideas yourself! Enjoy the rest of your planning...

Yay, thats cool you got out of the contract!

well that was a very smart move to make CiCy!!...so your planner doesn't offer DOC services?...the reason why I ask because it seemed as though you two had a great connection but honey I know looking at saving $750 is good enough to find someone alot less...GL on your hunt for a DOC, I'm sure you'll find another excellent pro that will do your day exactly how you want it!  ;)

So she was going to let me out of the contract for $150 But then turn around and charge $500 for DOC to where it did not make sense to get out of contract anyway.  I needed to find some money to cover the food quote and that was the line item that seemed to make the most sense right now. My bestest girlfriend in the world is my BM and I am going to start leaning on her more.

I told you in the beginning you had a knack for planning. You could this in your sleep. You and AlfDallas need to team up and plan our weddings for us.

Yeah, that's a good move.  I turn to your blog for style inspiration, so you really don't need a planner with all of your great ideas and style.  I am still searching for a DOC.  It may be a good idea to check with some Coordinators here in the Triad, since that's where you're getting married.  I met with a guy yesterday named Puccini Roseboro of Fabulous Flowers and Accessories.  I am considering him because he is very thorough and oh so fabulous.  You can e-mail him at fabulousflowersaccess@yahoo.com.  Also, he is AA, and I know how much you love that.  I am also considering a event coordinator/decor specialist located here in GSO called Laura Jennifer Events http://laurajenniferevents.com/index.htm. But she is not always the easiest person to get in contact with.  But I believe she does Day of wedding .  You may also want to check Triad Board.  There's a girl named Brittlee that lists her vendors with reviews and I think she had a DOC review on there.  So, check it out.  Good luck.  And let me know if you hear of any good ones in the Triad because I'm still looking too.

**tamtam**: I have heard of knotties trading DOC since they have a feel for who is good at deets and such.  I am considering looking into doing a swap with a local knottie.

Ok.  I've never heard of that before.  I'm not really sure I understand the concept.  Please elaborate.

**tamtam**: Sorry for the delay. The trade is that I would do the DOC for one knottie's wedding day in exchange for her doing the DOC for mine. So we keep in contact on all the deets and contacts for vendors and then on the day of each wedding the other knottie would be the point person/coordinator for the other knottie's day.

Oh, ok.  I would suck at that.  I'm not too good with paying attention to detail.  I don't know, sometimes I surprise myself.

mycicy-My wedding coordinator is awesome and she also has DOC services as well.  She is a AA vendor and I highly recommend her.  Her name is April Pyatt and her website is being updated at the moment, but the website is yoursocialiteevents.com.
