I'm flaming my SIL today. Below I will dictate the conversation I had with her the other day. Me: "I need to buy some new spanx for a wedding I'm going to at the mall. Do you want to go with me?" Her: "Spanx? Those are uncomfortable and not necessary." Me: "My dress is silk and they'll smooth out lines" Her: "I guess me and my friends just don't need them. It is like you're not being honest when you wear spanx. Maybe instead of Spanx ppl should just lose weight." Okay, does anyone want to go with me to beat the living crap out of her?

Emi, yes. I do. Also, what does "butt-hurt" mean? Am I the only one who has never heard this term?

I don't get the World of Warcraft thing either.  I never have.  My ex boyfriend played all. the. time. and it was super annoying.  I just didn't get the point.  But, I guess that's what someone could say about me and anything that I'm hardcore interested in.  I love how some friendships are completely 1 sided.  I think it's really interesting how some people I thought I'd kind of lost a "friendship" with, are currently my biggest supporters on my blog and on FB.  It's really encouraging and I don't know if they realize how much it means to me.  And yet the people who I thought would be my "support" system don't seem to care at all.  Whatev.I also think it's so rude how if I comment on someone's FB status about something and that I'm posting status' very similar to what that person is going through, I get nothing in return.  It's like, "why am I even your 'friend' on FB?".  I know that sounds really stupid, but it really irks me.  There are some people I went to HS with who are currently in the house buying process and I've been really supportive and comment on their status, and I get NOTHING back from them.  I must be PMSing.

Apple - Remember when I was talking about craving cake? I found out from the Knotties I could buy it by the slice so I got one at Kroger... nasty! and so dry! So I drove 20 min. to the closest Tom Thumb, per your suggestion, and I cannot stop thinking about how amazing that cake tasted! ... I think that was over a month ago!

You could even go as far as saying that wearing clothes at all would be dishonest. But really, who are you lying to?  It's not like you're showing off for a bunch of guys who'll be upset when they finally see you naked and realize that you were wearing Spanx the whole time.  Is your H really going to dump you on your wedding night when he realizes your butt is a half an inch lower and not quite as smooth as it looked in your clothes?

Other than being the mother of my two beautiful nephews, I can't stand her with every ounce of my being. The spanx comment didn't phase me because that was just one of the many ridiculous (and rude) comments she makes pretty much daily. She's the most judgemental person I know and admits to it. Her and "her friends" do no wrong. She likes to prance around with her no hip, no butt, broad shoulders, no boob body in her size 0 outfits (did I mention she has NO fashion sense??) around me and my sister... On my wedding day she just stared at me and said, "Did you end up losing any weight for today??" Okay, I'm done. I can keep going...

I have another FFF, in regards to facebook statuses. I refuse to ever announce that I'm pregnant via Facebook, particularly when the pregnancy is very early.  The first few months of pregnancy are so fragile and the easist to lose the baby no matter how careful you are.  I say this because one Facebook friend posted that she was all of 6 weeks pregnant recently and another actually posted that she had a miscarriage.  FROM HER PHONE.  IN THE HOSPITAL.  I'm not telling anyone I'm pregnant till I start to show.  I don't want to have to tell everyone in the world if I lose the baby.  That's nobody's business. To me, that screams AW.

To be honest, I didn't get the WoW thing either. Until I started playing it. Some could equate it to us being on here. Or someone who collects comics. Or numerous other things. They might see this as nerdy. Honestly, sometimes I only log on to talk to the friends I have made on there. It can be addicting just like any other games or passions or hobbies you are interested in. I had to remind myself over and over that David and his online games or even his xbox games was equivalent to my dancing. I spend at least 11 hours a week dancing. My activity just involves physical activity and contact with people in person. But just because you haven't met someone but talk to them online or over the phone a lot doesn't mean they are any less of a friend than the friend you go hang out with every week at the bar or whatever.Everything is so subject to perception too. What is normal? What is nerdy? It varies from person to person. Now on the other hand, if all you do is online gaming or console game playing and never make contact with the outside world...there's a problem.

Mariah -- I hear ya about the FB thing.  Though sometimes it's just timing.  I mean I know that I don't always give the same support to people, but a) I hate getting all the notifications when everyone else comments after me...I admit that...LOL and b) when you've said "OMG Congratulations!" for the 17th time on one status or on the same day to different people it starts to feel...IDK, not as genuine or something.  It doesn't mean they aren't happy for you, I'll bet.  People are just lazy a-holes sometimes...I know I can be!  Don't let it rain on your excited new house parade! :)

OMG on the Spanx thing? A friend of mine is a size 1 seriously. And she is wearing Spanx for her wedding. Because it makes her look even better!!!! Spanx totally rocks and I am wearing it. So there. Makes me look so so so much better anytime I wear a dress of any kind. I cannot believe she would say that Emi. How totally rude.

May, I agree with ya! Pregnancy isn't something to be taking lightly, a la announcing it on FB. And even more so when it comes to a miscarriage. FB is ruining some people, I tell you. I'm seriously thinking of deleting mine. I think it's making me lazy in keeping in contact with friends. Whatever happen to the phone? haha I don't mean to trash anyone, I promise!

Amy, I'm the SAME WAY.  I'll only tell my mom and my MIL when I'm pregnant...the rest of the world can wait til the first trimester is finished.  However, knowing my Mother, telling her might be the equivalent of putting it on FB....

Apple, my mother's older, super-conservative sister constantly laments the fact that my sister and I just "can't do anything the normal way."  All my sister's issues aside, I went to college, fell in love, moved in with my BF, graduated, got a job, got engaged, bought a house and am now planning a wedding.  Whatever "normal" is, I think I did it.  Don't a lot of couples move in together before getting married?  I know not everyone does, but I also know that a lot of people do.  Bah.
