Is Thursday Confession Day?

If not, I'm confessing anyway:With everything there is to think/worry/stress about in relation to the baby, the thing that is most upsetting me is that my belly button is going to pop out.  It's already working its way there.  And it's gross.  I am not a freaking turkey.

Re: Is Thursday Confession Day?

  • I confess that I already have an outtie.  It's unattractive at best.
  • So you are almost "done" cool. :P

  • I confess that I haven't done a lick of work today.
  • The worst part is everyone will refer to your belly button as just that - I turkey and it's almost done cooking!!!!  ps....I like the name Taryn.  Cute.
  • I said I would attend a meeting at 2pm mainly because it got me out of teaching my last class.

  • I would rather watch grey's anatomy tonight than go out to a happy hour event with my grad school classmates, but NO.  I have to be sociable.  Psh.

  • Just paint it like a nipple and you'll have your Halloween costume done! :) My confession: I'm about to stop all this DIY nonsense and just start throwing money at this damn wedding. I have been so good budget-wise until now, and now I'm just freakin tired. I have a couple grand in my house rennovation fund, and I'm trying to talk myself out of just taking it and buying bouquets, candy bags, champagne and centerpieces.
  • We are having a family dinner at my mom's house tonight. My little brother will be there and I'm dreading it.
  • FI and I kind of said fuuck it to our reception budget because we didn't want to look at anymore places.  Now I feel guilty about it, even though he was the one who didn't care about the budget as much as I did.

  • Thank you Stackeye :) Nebb - that makes me happy for you (not that your ILs are crazy, but that your DH is awesome).

  • Bec, I would pick an amount, budget accordingly and just DIY whatever is leftover. I would rank the stuff according to hours of labor and start paying for that shiit from the most hours down. You're not going to get less over it as it gets closer. My confession: I have a big tasker due next Wednesday and I'm taking leave tomorrow through Tuesday. Hopefully I can knock it out Wednesday because I have no desire to start on it today. Vacation starts in 3 hours!!
  • Confession - I'm very disappointed that I can't go to this job interview with a place I've been trying to get a job at for months now.  The reason being, FIL was just diagnosed with cancer and I need the vacation time from my current job in case they need help during his treatments.  Of course I wouldn't have it any other way, I want to be able to help, but it's still disappointing.  I've applied to various positions at this company and this was my first chance for an interview.  :(
  • Stackeye, I'm sorry to hear that.
  • Confession: Dirty underwear creeps me out. I like seriously have a phobia of dirty underwear.
  • The thing is, I already bought all the materials for the DIY stuff, so that will be wasted if I just have it done for me now. I think I'm going to wait until next Thursday and decide. I have a few girlfriends coming over next Wednesday to help me do some stuff, so whatever is left on Thursday morning I'll decide what to pay for and what to finish DIY. This would have been really easy if I hadn't bought my daughter's car and spent all that money on myself. (Just kidding! I would never do that!)
  • Stackeye - sorry to hear about your FIL.
  • Don't do it Bec!  House = way more important than flowers or favors, even if you don't get them done.

  • Stackeye, that sucks. Did you at least let them know what was up in case another opportunity comes along in the future?I confess that when I'm having a bad day, I put on my wedding dress and wander around the house in it for a few minutes until I feel better. This thing is going to look like crap by my wedding day.
  • My confession:H and I have invited a few people over this weekend, and this is the first time we will have entertained a group of our friends at our apartment.  I've been running around all week like mad to make everything perfect.  Then last night I get a call from one of the friends who tells us that most likely no one will be coming because one of the guys we invited is throwing his own shin dig (he has a house and raging parties all the time so they are known to be a good time).  At this point I just want to call the whole thing off, but we have some friends that might come in from out of town so I can't.  I'm bummed.  I may, however, freak out on them when they call to ask if we can bring Rock Band over.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • I told FI I would clean the house before I leave town tomorrow.  I'm still in my PJs and glasses and have been looking at flowers for the last 2 hours.
  • Thanks......we just found out Friday - but luckily FIL is VERY VERY in shape, and a health nut, and the cancer is only stage 2.  The outlook is very good.  But MIL watches our daughter so I have to be there to help in anyway I can since they help us so much.
  • I have an AE.  She hasn't posted in awhile though.  I will give her up eventually.  But, I want to have some more fun first.

  • Wow stackeye - that really sucks.  Is there any way you can schedule an interview so you only have to take a half day?  If you're interviewing, I am assuming it's a better job than the one that you have now.  This is going to sound really mean, but taking that day for an interview is an investment in your future; I am sure there are other people that can help FFIL with treatments.  If you don't take the interview, you may not get another chance.

  • I'm thinking with a few girlfriends and some wine, you should be able to knock out 90% of your DIY!
  • Opalsky - I most definitely did call them, and let them know that I would be trying again in the near future.
  • I know, Tide. It's a completely insane and immature thought, and will never go further than that, but I just have to woman up and get the hell over the exhaustion and get it all done.
  • After the stoopid 2 day waiting period I'll have an AE, but it won't be a mystery. Fishy should know what I'm talking about.

  • Tide - It isn't about the day of the interview, it's about FIL starting treatments so I need a flexible schedule to be home with our daughter in case she can't be at their house one day if he is feeling too sick or what not.  My job is letting me work 4 10 hour days, and so is H's job while FIL has treatment so that takes out 2 workdays where we normally would send our daughter over there.  If I started a new job I wouldn't be able to get the same flexibility.
  • Oh - that makes sense.  Duh.  I'm sorry.
