We're having wine and beer only. We couldn't afford a full bar and FI's mom offered to pay for the beer and wine. I've only been to 2 weddings as an adult and both were dry. The first was an early afternoon wedding and I was a bridesmaid. FI and I left early. The second was an evening wedding and FI and I left early. I don't think that you have to have alcohol to have a good time but it sure helps.

KATE WAS RIGHT! You're DSW's AE (and a really bad one at that). Thanks, Stage for pointing out the BS!

You realize even if you have an after party that people would still leave early from you wedding.  And someone should totally page DSW.  We should get someone to start a post asking for b-pic photogs and get her to come over with her rec.

From Reception thread.DaniIt sounds like you and your FI need to come to some compromise. Maybe you can have an alcohol free daytime wedding and reception and then have a party later that night with your friends that includes drinking and dancing.StageThis.We had the kind of reception Dani was talking about. No drinks, no dancing, just good food, background music and socializing. It lasted about 3 hours.Later that night, we went out to our fave karaoke bar and put the word out to our friends that we were going to be hanging out there. That way, we got to "party" with our friends and OOT guests that wanted to, but we didn't have to violate our venue's policies.

Nice wedding date change. Moving the date up will totally help you pay for the alcohol yourself. Will the two-month old ring bearer still be dragged down the isle? Why do I feel like I missed something?
