I'm not sure it's any worse than the original dress she was trying to find.

I don't know, Sabina. With the exception of color, I think the neckline on the Knight's Tale dress is more flattering.  AND there are no pick-ups, AND the volume seems less. The original dress.... well, just ick. Huge volume, a bazillion pick-ups, square neckline, and weird length sleeves?

I actually love the Knight's Tale dress.  But probably not for a wedding dress, even if it was white.  Unless you're having a medieval theme wedding, and hey, I LARP, and go to ren faires, so I'm totally cool with that.

I'm trying to imagine what that 2nd one would look like in white since that's what she wanted.  Might be more flattering but it still gives me the visual of her walking around gnawing on a smoked turkey leg during the reception

The second I saw her post the pickup princess dress with the weird sleeves, I suspected MUD.

I just thought maybe she posted the wrong dress pic. I don't really think MUD, but then I don't have as much experience since I don't spend time on P&E. This would be one very patient, subtle MUD up until now.Plus, she'd have responded if she was MUD, isn't that what they do?

It's not MUD.  And she didn't post the wrong picture.  Not unless she did it on other forums besides this one.Google the SN.

Boredom.  Trying to avoid doing real work.  My boss's secretary is breathing down my neck to get it done ASAP though because the potential client is a friend of hers.  If she knew I was going to tell her we don't have a case, she may not be so eager for me to finish, but whatever.

There's also a webshots album with her signature pic, this dress pic, a pic of FI, and two random pictures of hip x-rays with tons of screws in them.... weird.

two random pictures of hip x-rays with tons of screws in them.... weird. From her SN this isn't weird to me at all.  I'd be willing to bet she sustained an injury falling off a horse.  I fell off and got hurt a few years ago and didn't catch it (I just thought I had a really bad sprain in my back/hip or something, so I dealt with it for months).  By the time I had it x-rayed, the bones had already reset, and so now my left leg is two inches longer than my right because I cracked bones in my right hip and they fused together incorrectly.  It happens.  A lot.

I know it happens, and I also figured it was from riding.I just meant it was kind of randomly thrown in with a wedding dress and two pics of her and her FI. They're very weird when put together with nothing else, that's all.

I don't find that strange in the least actually. heh
• edited December 2011
I'm kind of late on this, but I don't really like the dress. Then again, I don't like gowns that are super poofy and puffy. The sleeves are really bad. However, everyone has their own taste in wedding gowns. P.S. I do think that you need to keep your story straight, OP. First you would never want to jump the gun, now you already bought the gown? Which story is it? Did you have a change of heart?

I think it's strange that she has responded to a bunch of other posts today, but not this one.I'm not.  I'm actually impressed that she's avoiding the drama.  But like Goldie, I'm curious about the inconsistencies.

I was looking at the dress again. Even though I still don't like the sleeves, I think that the neckline is the biggest problem. Even with the sleeves, it MIGHT look okay if the neckline were changed. I still wouldn't buy it. Although I'm a pretty big internet shopper, I wouldn't buy my dress online unless I had tried on the same dress in a shop already. I'd be too scared. Like someone else said (Noelle, I think) I hope that they have an excellent return policy.
• edited December 2011
I'm kind of disappointed that she hasn't come back too. Seriously, if you've changed your mind and position on preplanning, be woman enough to admit it. You (OP) certainly wouldn't be the first woman in the world to change here mind about something.

Please return it.  It is not beautiful.  It is fussy and overdone and really you should be ashamed for purchasing a dress without being asked first.  You will not continue to be patient, as you haven't been.  Exercising patience =/= purchasing a wedding dress prior to being proposed to.

Its alright to look and get ideas!I have looked at tons of things to get a basic outline of what I want. My boyfriend and I have even started to check off the check list. To arixana---   I am also expecting it a week before Christmas when I get home from Russia (Dec 17th)I have not seen my bf since Aug because I defered from my university and am out here living in Russia teaching for four months. Just so excited knowing he is going to pop the question about a week after I get home :)

UGLY.  And pick-ups are WAY past their prime (meaning: outdated), and you're not even engaged yet.  But hey, congratulations, all the dress looking and buying fun is OVER.  And you have a dress that people will be talking about behind their hands, and not in a good way.  You jumped the gun sweetheart, enjoy!

I'm on a tight "budjet" as well. I found and purchased a gown in a store that is $200 cheaper than the pre-shipping price of that monstrosity. Oh, and I had been engaged for about six months by the time I purchased said dress.

Wow...I mean to each her own on what type of dress you want...but buying one online without trying it on...and BEFORE you are engaged...Yikes.Is anyone else thinking about the "Friends" episode where Rachel flings open the door in a wedding dress, and Joshua goes running?

Well, we have a lot of new people that would't know what Panda was talking about in her post, so I figured I'd go ahead and respond so it'd come back and people who have been asking "just what *does* it mean to be BSC?" would have a reasonable example from someone who is *not* an ice-rink wedding troll.
